everybody put your glasses up & I drink to that
Who: Dalila & Darklis
Where: Palminteri house
When: Night
Things Darklis had learned so far today: calculators are stupid, people still don’t really like the vampire who got nominated for homecoming court, homecoming court is probably totally ridiculous anyway, psychic fire elementals taste like rainbow glow-worms and… and… here had been an and. Oh! Fangs are not sufficient proof of identification, but the cops kind of do leave you alone. Honestly, there was more that kept sort of surfacing in an unpleasant sort of ‘I know what you did several hours ago’ way… but the Azraelan was finding it all that hard to care. Wait, why had she stopped the cop car? Oh, nooo, they’d stopped her. For being out on a school night – and she didn’t think it was even that late, she was just trying to turn in earlier than originally intended after someone did something stupid to her drink – and looking like she was seventeen. Hah, that bit was funny, but she shouldn’t really have laughed at them. Not that it mattered much; even her something-addled mind could figure out that the more ridiculously she acted the more they were likely to believe she was the age she looked. Right? Right. Clearly.
Trouble would’ve agreed with her. Or not because the cat was attached to an angel who was all sensible and—Ah, ah, ah; Rina was sooo not allowed to see her like this. Oh no, no, no. It might end up on YouTube but since the vampire was fairly confident her cousin didn’t know what that was yet then all was good. Yeah.
The fact her BlackBerry wouldn’t stop texting her was really beginning to piss her off. Rationally, way off in the distance, she knew that those messages were from people only responding from things she had probably sent? But since she didn’t want to think about that right now, she had decided to remain with a negative emotional state attached to it.
Right now was when the world should be glad she didn’t use Twitter.
Sooo… Where was she again. Oh hey, it was water elemental country. And psychic country and shark country and air elemental country, and… Actually, Darklis was pretty sure she had tried asking those cops which way this way was before they scooted. Obviously she never got an answer. Or she did and she really didn’t remember. Rummaging around her bag, she dug out her BlackBerry and clumsily located Dalila’s number. If predictive texting failed her now she would be pissed:
