'Awwww, poor Bubbler! Don't worry, I would hug you if you would come up and let me!' Trouble's small tail lashed. 'So long as you didn't use those big claws on me.' The small cat thought that everyone should have hugs in their life and firmly believed they helped. Especially if they were hugs that came from a very small, fluffy cat everyone thought was a kitten. Trouble was very confident in the ability of her cat-hugs and Rina did not have the heart to tell her that perhaps they really did not work as well as she thought on everyone she met.
Rina wondered if she should block out her empathy, but in the end decided that her staying away from Jadyn meant that she deserved to know what she was going through. Not just the words, either, but the real feelings behind them. How could Rina hope to understand what was going on or how to help if she did not know exactly how Jadyn felt? She would likely be completely unable to ever understand how the non-empaths of the world managed to understand each other. Jadyn wrapping herself up, the shaking, the tears... Rina's heart ached and she moved forward without thinking about it too much, reaching out to wrap her arms around the water elemental so that she could hug her. "It's okay, Jadyn, go ahead and cry." The angel wanted to do nothing more than reach into Jadyn and switch her emotions, but she did not. It would help for now, but it would not help the problem. Rina was not here to put a band-aid on the wounds, she was supposed to heal them and that usually hurt worse.
The sound of a dog barking broke through her thoughts and Rina instinctively looked around, pausing when she realized the store was empty but for them. "Come back, Jeremy! You don't belong in the store!!" Ah, she was hearing a dog named Jeremy who had been here... she did not even know how long ago. That was always fun. 'Have you never met a nice vampire, Jadyn?' Trouble asked, sitting down and looking what Rina imagined to be confused. 'We've only met one. She's Rina's cousin. And she's really, really nice! She makes nightmares go away.'
"Come on Jadyn, let's sit down, then you can tell me what you're scared of." Other than the obvious 'my girlfriend's a vampire' which sent up all of the red flags. Not in Rina's mind, her view on vampires spiraled out from her experience with Darklis, but in Jadyn's. And currently that was the important one.
