'Hello.' Jadyn was sure that if his eyes could have narrowed, they would have dramatically. Be nice. She didn't understand how anyone could be the least bit unpleasant to the tiny kitten. 'To a furball who insists on riding me? I am not a horse. And I am being nice. I said hello, didn't I?' Bubbler, clearly, did not agree with Jadyn, but at least he was polite enough to channel those thoughts only to her and not to the rest of the room. The brunette just rolled her eyes before looking at Trouble and apologizing for her familiar's behavior. "Don't worry, Trouble. He's just bitter because he doesn't get enough hugs in his lifetime." Because who would hug a lobster? 'I dare you to try.' He clicked a claw to prove a point.
It was a good thing that the weather was what most people considered bad because it kept most people indoors and away from businesses like Seaside Designs unless they absolutely had to be there. Rina was the only person nearby, which was good considering how close Jadyn was to crying. The rain also helped calm Jadyn, but it didn't do much to heal the hurt and guilt she was feeling. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, worrying the flesh while tossing her pencil into a cup on the counter. Now that her hand was free, it went straight up to run through her mess of hair, flipping the top to the side. She looked down at the small kitten as it flopped across the counter to her. The small ball of fluff spouting about how cool vampires were and how she and Rina had one too certainly made it hard to think of her as an adorable kitten.
Subconsciously, she pulled her arms up to cross over her chest to help protect herself. She remembered that godawful day in the rain when she and Cecil were attacked. She could still feel the way her neck burned when the fangs pierced her skin if she closed her eyes. How could she possibly be okay with Missy being a vampire -- or anyone, really -- when she had been attacked almost a month and a half before? No, vampires were nothing short of terrible. Missy didn't do anything.
"N-no. She just... Was turned. When I saw her..." Jadyn felt her body starting to shake with a mixture of fear, memory, and heart break. "I couldn't bear it. I was scared. I am scared." She wished that the tears running down her cheeks offered some form of comfort, but they simply gave her wet tracks down her face and nothing more.
