Let's make it something experimental
Who: Liliya and Naoki
When: Early evening
Where: Home
There had been several things that Maureen and Liliya had not agreed upon at their last meeting and, while the most noteworthy of them was going to be dealt with by Liliya herself, the other one was one that she had not been given much leeway on. Maureen was right, as much as it pained her to admit it, and she needed to tell Naoki what was going to happen. The way that she liked to compare it was that he had been the only one she had fed directly from - discounting blood bank donations and such - since he had come to the States and 'married' her and he might not take well to no longer being the only one who directly supplied her. Just like a child who was informed that they were going to have a little sibling coming along in a few months. Only he was an adult, a few months was this week and Liliya was nowhere near as concerned for his feelings as a parent would have been. Perhaps if Via had still been there she could have been coerced into pretending to have a little more compassion, but she was not and Liliya would be damned all over again if she was going to pretend for his sake. What Liliya had not considered were Naoki's morals or that strong angelic-blood of his that might protest another spilling theirs for her. She did not consider it because she did not share those morals, or any like them, and she never would. A neck was a neck and she would welcome the change. Depending on the doll, Liliya might even pay actual attention to her just to see what would happen. Because of course with the female blood doll she would be finding, without Maureen's help or knowledge, would be hand-picked. This other one that Maureen was finding would be incidental and probably rarely used. Naoki would likely have to put up with him less often than whoever the her was, but he would need to know about both of them.
More importantly, he would have to know that he was not under any circumstances to even think of signing a single letter to anyone that she had them. Maureen had sent her an email with various ideas for why she would have this new person - people - around her and Liliya had decided that she liked the idea of them being her personal, close-to-home "human aides" the best. Someone who was there to tell her how things were from the 'human' perspective. It might go over well with the public if they saw that she was taking those extra steps to ensure that she was not forgetting about a good portion of them. Rumors may still be started, but if that story was already out there then they would be that much harder to take seriously. Liliya, Maureen and Naoki would know the truth. Possibly the other Cyri if Liliya felt like sharing. The only one that she was at all concerned about slipping up the lie was Naoki. He had done very well these past few years with their 'happy marriage', but this was different. This was introducing other people and if she had to force the acceptance for it down his throat then she would not hesitate. And it would be made more than clear that that included telling Maureen about the girl she found. Whenever she found her. That could be the biggest problem because she would be angelic. Liliya would always choose the angelic's.
Sighing out a breath she had not needed to draw, Liliya drew her fingers over the leaf of her favorite house plant as she sat at the table, her one good leg dangling down to tap against the floor. She was still making sure that they and the garden were well-tended, although she knew that autumn was coming and that meant the end of her garden for a stretch of time. It would be back and the dirt would not be harmed by the change of seasons, but Liliya always mourned the passing of the plants that would not rebloom. Had she not had a job that demanded so much of her attention then she might have brought them all inside and tended to them until they could be replanted, but as it was she had more than enough plants and did not need to add more. "You speak exactly the right amount," the vampire murmured to the plant, stopping her caress so that she could reach out and pick up the wine glass filled with a bit of the blood that Naoki had left in the fridge. Yes, the taste was still good, but it was such a familiar one... she really would enjoy the change to someone new. Even if they had the same exact bloodtype as Naoki there would be those little variations to let her know it was different. "Snowball!" Shouting for Naoki was pointless. "Tell Naoki I need to speak with him!"
