Was there a tiny twitch on the side of Julian's head? Marisa would've looked closer to see if yes that was a tic when she was distracted by the daisy being held out to her. Her smile changed slightly as she accepted it, bringing it up to sniff at the blossom before giving it a twirl. "Pretty choice, Julian, thank you." She'd be able to get it into a glass of water and keep it on her desk in that thing she was supposed to keep office hours in. Maybe it'd give it a smell that was less books and the feel of being closed in. Marisa liked teaching better than she liked being in that office and if it was allowed then she'd have held her hours out on the lawn. Or up a tree. Oh yes, she liked the idea of hours being held up a tree. No one could bring her problems if they couldn't find her. And I'm thinking about school instead of paying attention. Wow. Marisa shook the thoughts off and gave another pleased little smile when her outfit was complimented. She even smoothed her free hand down over her hip and admired the way the skirt fit for a second. "Have to look good for the students, don't I?"
The Jacob question was the first to cause her smile to slip and she sucked her lower lip into her mouth like she always did when she was thinking, turning a little so that she was more firmly in the line and less staring up at Julian. "He's healing fast, that's the were in him. But his grandparents are absolutely beside themselves and it's only made worse because they can't blame me. If they could blame me then maybe they'd be less awful." She shrugged and tossed her hair back again. "I've been staying busy so I don't have to think about it. And is that what you wear at the clinic?" One of her eyebrows arched as she motioned at his tanktop. "Jealous, I'd love to be so casual." There was a teasing lilt to her voice as she stepped up and ordered a java chip frappuccino. "And then whatever he's having." The lilt turned into a smile. "Or won't you let me pay?"
