We got a thing going on
Who: Julian and Marisa
Where: Starbucks
When: Morning, before work
Julian had a full day ahead of him. One of the other vets at the clinic was doing a series of lectures at Brown and Julian had agreed to pick his patients up. Luckily, his dad had been able to take twins (about time he stepped up to the plate). It would be easier if they could just take one a piece but splitting the twins was impossible. At least if you wanted your head still there at the end of the day. He parked his jeep outside of the Starbucks and stepped out onto the street. He checked his watch. He was a little early. He could afford to make a quick detour before he went to meet Marisa.
Walking out of the flower shop, Julian had a single daisy in his hand. It was cheap...but the day and the situation didn't warrant anything as grandiose as a bouquet of roses and he didn't want to seem overeager or in her face. A single daisy seemed more appropriate. And more Marisa at any rate. Not that she didn't deserve a dozen roses every single day. He just didn't want to overwhelm her. With an added little skip to his step, he hurried back to the Starbucks and walked in. The air conditioning was a great reprieve from the humidity outside and Julian took a moment to cool down. He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and looked around for Marisa. He hoped he was still on time and hadn't kept her waiting. It'd been a little while since he'd seen her. After the whole episode at the hospital, the Marshes and Felicity, Julian had sort of given her her space to take care of Jacob. He'd busied himself with the Summers, completely unaware that a Summers had been busy with Marisa himself.
