Waiting in lost & found
Who: Linnea and Nikita
Where: Nikita's place
When: After school
So far as Linnea was aware, she was taking Satu over to bake with Silvia and permission had been given by Nikita for this. Now that was just an odd thing for her to think. Silvia Anderson, the little brunette whose mother Linnea had had lunch or coffee with every now and again since they had daughters the same age and were both members of the PTA, was now the adopted daughter of Nikita. Nikita, the Russian vampire who had fed from her who knew how many times. The one who had walked into her husband's office and blown him away. Putting that image with the one that Linnea simply assumed went with that of a mother was... difficult. It may have been more difficult because she had known Sarah Anderson. If one were to ask Linnea - which no one had, but she had thought it anyway and possibly even shared her opinion somewhere - then there could not be two women more different. She assumed that Sarah was a were like Silvia and that aside, she had been a relatively quiet and soft-spoken woman who was more fond of quiet company and peaceful nights than ones spent dealing with people like Jokull. Or handling guns. Or engaging in any sort of activity that might be considered outside 'acceptable'. Linnea could never picture Sarah Anderson getting high or even past a little tipsy, whereas Nikita quite enjoyed drinking her blood after she had smoked quite a bit. But who was she to judge a person off that? No one; she knew all too well what she had done when she had been younger and less in control of herself. Linnea was just making comparisons in her head as she parked the car and slid out after Satu. Her daughter may not have needed to be escorted to the door, but Linnea rather hoped to catch a glimpse of Nikita once the girls had scampered off to do their baking.
Really, it was only polite to say hello to the woman who had killed one's husband for her.
And sure enough, not a moment after Satu and Silvia had vanished in the direction of the kitchen, Linnea caught sight of Nikita lingering nearby. She recognized the look of 'I'm watching you' that she had given to her own children she did not even know how many times. What she did not recognize, because she usually refused to look at herself in the mirror when she was sad about something, were the almost puppy dog eyes that she was seeing. Nikita knew how to have that look on her face? Linnea was not sure whether it was that or her emotions in general since they were fluctuating more than a bit thanks to her pregnancy that caused her to close the door and step forward. "Nikita, I don't think I've ever seen that look on your face and I'd like to never see it again." The elemental's arms came up and she embraced the vampire in a quick hug. No, her temperature did not bother her because she was a little more chill than everyone else as it was. Nor did she flinch just because Nikita's mouth was in the same area as her neck and she knew what those teeth could do to her. Linnea saw no reason to be afraid of her. Pulling back she placed a kiss on each of Nikita's cheeks. "I was just going to say hello before leaving, but I feel like perhaps you need to talk about something? I am good with daughter problems." Well, depending on the type of problem. She was sure that most mothers did not have to learn how to avoid questions or statements regarding abortion or miscarriages of the child they were currently pregnant with. Twirling her ring around on her finger she waited to see whether or not she was going to be staying for awhile.
