She was thrilled -- okay, beyond thrilled -- to have the cat finally in her possession. Her belly was so soft and cuddly; Daisy just knew that she could get lost in the ball of fluff for hours. The thought occurred to her that maybe she ought to look into getting a little brother or sister for Bandit, something that would be great for cuddles and would keep him company. There was nothing about the idea that sounded bad to her, but she knew she had better run it by Joseph before coming home with a new pet. Of course, surprises could always be fun. Daisy's mind was brought back to the present when Trouble spoke out to the two of other women. "I've just had lots of practice is all. And I'm glad you like me so much!" She giggled as she reached under Trouble's chin to give the spot a hearty scratch. Her attention was stolen only momentarily when the cookies were brought into the room. She reached a bit beyond her grasp to grab a handful of cookies, not wanting them or the cat in her lap to spill out into the floor. Daisy set the stack on her leg beside Trouble. Anyone who said that she couldn't multi-task needed to see how well she handled eating a cookie with one hand and continuing to rub all over the cat's soft fur with the other. "You wouldn't happen to have any milk?" She didn't want to bother Darklis, but a nothing went better with cookies than milk!
"Oh.. that," Daisy said with a full mouth. "I guess that's what it's called." Truth be told, she had never cared enough to remember. All she knew was that one day everything was fine and then the next those times when Joseph would hear the voices were louder and more abrasive to him. If she had the power to turn it off, Daisy would have, if only for his sake. All those times when she had desperately wished for a power, she had never thought to specify for an actual power that she could control. "And it's okay," she said in a tone that was meant for a child as she scratched behind Trouble's ear. "I don't mind being asked." Finally, Daisy looked up from the cat and back and forth between the other two woman. The thought had never occurred to her that they would be affected by her latent ability. Had she been bothering them just by sitting here and not realizing. A rush of guilt fled through her and dampened the previous excited wave of emotion she had been riding. "Are you two... psychics?" That was the word right? "I'm sorry if I've been upsetting you. I didn't mean to." Maybe, if Daisy had spent time with anyone other than Joseph after the accident that caused her to become an Amplifier, she might not have been so drastically apologetic for something she couldn't help. It always seemed to make him angry, so it only made sense that the two woman would be as well. "I just wanted to come over to say thank you and..." Daisy's face dropped into a pout as she took another bite of her cookie and petted Trouble one last time before she was asked to leave.
