It was easy for Daisy to not pay attention to the exchange between Rina and Darklis or the obvious tension between them. She was not selfish, by any stretch of the imagination, but she had the horrible tendency of ignoring things that did not pertain to her directly. Her brain seemed to filter out any and all things that didn't involve people speaking to her or Joseph (who, lets face it, always affected her directly). Of course, that rule could almost always be thrown away completely when Daisy had something on her mind that she wanted, and right now, that was getting her hands on Trouble.
Oh. Well, that made sense. And that was all the answer that Daisy needed to quiet any questions regarding why Darklis owned a house at such a young age. She had always been easily satisfied with the answers that people gave, given that they made sense. "Well you and your family have a beautiful house. Me and my boyfriend just bought a house, but it's nothing like this. Maybe one day." Just at the thought of Joseph, back at said house -- their house -- gave rise to another wave of excitement through Daisy. She couldn't wait to get back home and tell them about coming to see Rina and meeting Darklis, though if she were honest with herself, she would have acknowledged that it was unlikely he would care. "Vitamins. Hmm..." Daisy made a face of contemplation as Darklis left the room. "Your cousin must be pretty healthy if she takes vitamins. I wish I had the discipline for that."
Daisy had to repress a squeal when Trouble gave her permission, but then Rina grabbed her before she could make her way over. She listened to the other woman's words with the expression of child being reprimanded, despite the fact that Rina's voice was as calm as it had always been when she spoke to her. Daisy slowly nodded her head that she understood and took the seat that she had been about to claim before. She bounced in her seat as she extended her hands out for the cat. Trouble received a few gentle strokes on her head before Daisy picked her up and laid on her back, cradled between her legs. "You are just the prettiest kitty!" Daisy squeaked as she tickled Trouble's belly and played with her feet. Despite the fact that she understood that familiars were different than normal animals, she still struggled with the fact that not all of them enjoyed being treated like infants. She meant nothing by it, of course. And Bandit liked it so much, why wouldn't Trouble?
