I've got friends who will help me pull through Who: Trent and Selena Where: Ambulance garage When: Morning
It was hard to ignore the fact that the full moon was getting close. Trent could feel it, just underneath the surface, and after everything that had gone on in the last week, he could use a day off. Shit, he needed a day off, having been on call every day since the bombing, which of course meant that every day he'd gone in. Sometimes for longer shifts, sometimes not, but he still came in. There was a part of him that still had hope that maybe, just maybe, they'd still find someone alive in the ruins of the bridge... but that was a vain hope and he knew it. Tomorrow night he'd let the wolf in him loose and be better for it, as it was a chance for him to shut off the human part of his brain for a while and just let go.
He still had to get through today, though. Today he was in charge of driving the ambulance, which all things considered, was one of his favorite parts of his job. Who didn't like having permission to disobey most traffic laws? He might not be speeding for the best of reasons, knowing he likely had someone in back who needed more medical help than he could provide, but there was no denying that he was good at it. Giving a wave to the new girl - woman, he corrected himself, because though he didn't know how old she was she was probably older than him - Trent reached over for his metal coffee mug and then for the pot of coffee that had just finished brewing. God only knew he didn't get anywhere this early in the morning without a little pick-me-up. "You want a cup?" he asked her, holding up his mug. "It's fresh. The coffee, I mean." He took a sip of his before putting the lid back on. "It's Selena, right?"
