Emyli's lips went from the scowl she had pushed forward for the employees to an easy smile when the girl reacted so cheerfully. "I'm inclined to agree with you, cupcake. Jealousy motivates a lot of people to be asshats, so it definitely makes sense." Her smile was playful and it was amplified by the twinkle in her grey eyes. Looking down at the girl, she tried to place her; she looked like a high school student, that was for sure. Beyond that, the girl looked too sweet for her own good, which was something Emyli never understood, but always liked to test. The sweet people were always the most amusing when they were under duress. But most of the time, they would be standing there, jaw agape in regards to her outfit... this girl was not. Cool points for cupcake.
"So, you got a name or can I just keep calling you cupcake?" She moved her gaze from the girl back to the clerks and her grin easily transitioned from easy going to smug. If it didn't require so much effort, she would have even stuck her tongue out at them, as if to say 'See there? Somebody's nice to me.' When the employees forced themselves to look away, she returned her attention to the earrings on the rack. Now that they were avoiding looking at her, she could effortlessly pocket a pair without arousing suspicion. Maybe it would be something to appall sweetums here. The real question was, what pair did she want the most and what pair was she willing to pay for. That was always a good distraction. "What brings a treat like you out in this weather?" Emyli lay it on thick? Please. If it were any thicker, she would be swimming in Crisco.
