in a place of hearts and gold
Who: Keelin and Alanna
Where: Grocery Store
When: Evening
"You are not out of food." Keelin insisted, crossing her arms over her chest. Her familiar was at her feet, his head quirked to the side as if he didn't understand. For the past forty-five minutes, he had been insisting that since his food dish was empty, he was clearly out of treats and doggy chow. Clearly. "You still have half a bag of kibbles in the cabinet, I promise." 'You say that, but I'm not so sure I believe you. Let's go to the grocery store!!' His tail proceeded to wag with excitement. "There's no need!" 'Yes. There. Is.' Now he was hopping. "Oh really. What do we need besides more treats for you, oh delusional one?" 'Well. Treats are naturally the top of the list. Bacon as a close second. You're out of spaghetti stuffs, you have a few carrots left, and nothing left in the freezer. It's time for groceries! Or we could go ask Reggie what he's making for dinner.' He really did get way too excited when mentioning food, although the bouncing faltered when he mentioned Reggie, his large round eyes watching his witch carefully. "Let's go shopping." She muttered, grabbing her purse and keys. The dog just had a method of persuasion. It was as if he knew that she had been growing more and more anxious the closer that Friday got. Even telling herself that the dinner wasn't a date was starting to lose its calming effect. Keelin didn't mind driving to the grocery store, but it was really Pugsley who enjoyed the ride. He was barely tall enough to look out of the windows when he stood on his back legs, so he spent the ride on Keelin's lap. He had strict orders to stand still -- otherwise he might distract her and cause her to wreck, which was just not a good thing in general. And that might result in losing his witch, as well as no more car privileges. She parked relatively close to the front of the store, but still Pugsley dashed through the rain and made it inside before she did. Shaking her head, she trotted through the rain until she was inside, shivering slightly when cool air of the store hit her arms. She grabbed up a shopping basket before she started looking for her familiar. Who was darting straight for a girl with red hair. Really, she was more surprised than anything; she figured he would have gone straight for the bacon. "Pugsley," Keelin called as she approached the familiar. "I don't think she wants you bothering her." 'I'm not bothering you, am I?' Pugsley asked, his head tilting to the side. It really must have been his go-to gesture to look adorable. It certainly worked. |
