WHO | Jadyn, Missy, and Cecil (NPC)
WHERE | Missy's home
WHEN | Lunchtime
Cecil had not been feeling well the morning of the Peace March, which was why Jadyn had been home in the first place. Work would have to wait for Cecil to get better. She had made him some soup for lunch and was in the process of feeding him when she saw the news report. Dread coated her in a cold sweat and she immediately locked all of her doors and called Missy. After being reassured that everything was okay, Jadyn did her best to remain calm so she could take care of Cecil. He needed to feel better, but she was still afraid of anyone who might try to break into their house. She didn't think that the evening would ever end, but finally she was able to fall asleep with Cecil in her arms. After waking up, she slowly got herself ready so that Cecil could get more rest. A brief text to ask if Missy was available helped Jadyn remain calm during the morning. When Cecil finally woke, she gave him a warm bath before dressing him and gathering their things to head to Missy's. Bag over her shoulder and Cecil hugging her neck tightly, Jadyn cautiously made the trip to Missy's. Sure it was daylight, but what did that matter? After yesterday, she was certain that other people (whether they were normal or not) would be losing their minds. When she arrived at Missy's, she adjusted Cecil, who was now sleeping. Poor kid, his nose was stopped up and his head felt hot against her neck. Clearly, he was not feeling any better. She was sure the trip didn't help, but she really couldn't handle being alone again. Knocking on the door, Jadyn prayed that Missy hurried to answer. She needed to come inside, to make sure everything was okay. To be told that everything was okay. She was so close to falling apart as it was, she didn't think she could hold herself up for much longer. |
