If you're not here, I'm paralyzed
Who: Winifred, Isaiah, Lizzy and Adrie (NPC'd)
Where: Win's hospital room
When: afternoon
Winifred's stay in the hospital overnight had done nothing but reaffirm her distaste of the place. The only thing that made it bearable was Isaiah's presence. She'd clutched at his hand the moment they'd allowed him in the room with her, and she hadn't let it go yet. He'd only left her briefly to get his clothes when they'd finally taken her away in an ambulance, but still it had felt like an eternity until she'd gotten to touch him again, to see his face. Winifred didn't like that they'd stuck an IV into her arm, but she supposed that they were just doing what they thought was best. It made it awkward to sleep with all the things taped to her, but she did the best she could, snatching brief bits of rest in between checks from the nurse to make sure she was still stable. Really, Winifred was just glad that Isaiah was there to keep her company. She didn't know what she would have done if he hadn't been there to find her after the march, or the fact that he'd kept her awake when the pain and the shivery feeling in her head made her sleepy.
He truly was her Knight in Shining Feathers.
That he'd been there when she woke up was something that Winifred secretly hoped that she could get used to. She'd been so afraid that he hadn't felt the same way about her, but all that fear was gone now. Whatever painkillers they had given her had her floating on a calm little cloud of happiness. What pain was there was minimal to what it had been, even though they couldn't dose her too much because of her head. The last checkup from the nurse had her confirming that Winifred was doing very well. The white witch attributed that to the fact that Isaiah was there next to her, letting her hold his hand like she would die if she let go. When the nurse left, Winifred let out a light sigh, her eyes finding Isaiah's. "I think maybe seeing you when I wake up is my favorite thing right now. If I could keep one thing about this trip to the hospital, it would be that." Was that okay for her to say? Winifred didn't know, but she was being honest. "You sure you don't need to go get anything? Food? Real sleep?" Not that Winifred wanted him to go. Even the thought of Sai leaving had her squeezing his hand tighter.
