Seems like these days the whole world's on fire
Who: Holly and Zeke
Where: The street preceding the Broadway Bridge
When: From 11:37am onward
As soon as Holly had heard about the march she had settled it into her head that she was going to be there. While Holly did not flaunt her being a witch it was something she was proud of, part of her heritage, and she supported everybody's rights to be treated fairly and equally. To be there with her hand on Zeke's, well, that was just the cherry on top of a really delicious cupcake.
There were a lot of people there, which Holly had to admit made her happy even if she knew Zeke didn't really like to be in the midst of a really huge crowd. This big a turn-out was important, however. She looked up at her boyfriend - it still bore to be a little excited when she thought about him like that - to see how he was doing with the crowd when the first of many booming noises, above any sort of level she could even fathom, was heard right above them. And then it was like the world had broken loose on them.
Holly did not have time to realize fully what was happening, because one second her hand was firmly within Zeke's grasp and then it wasn't. She didn't know where he was - she didn't even see anything, truth be told, let alone know where anything was. The sounds of people screaming began as soon as the explosion noises succeeded each other, and as they did Holly heard the unmistakable sound of buildings coming down on the street where they were standing, just before the Broadway Bridge. While she had only been projected onto a wall by the explosions, that had not been all. She was hardly able to get used to the screaming when she realized her voice had joined theirs, for there was something very wrong with the lower half of her body. She could feel it, which was probably good, but some part of her would rather she couldn't. When Holly finally came to her senses fully she was stuck under rubble and a big pile of concrete, and people were rushing from one side to the other, screaming, crying, dying; things were on fire, sirens could be heard and still the buildings - and possibly the bridge - could be heard cracking down little by little, getting destroyed and falling on people.
Of course Holly couldn't stop screaming; broken legs one could eventually get over, but seeing people die right in front of their eyes...that was a little harder to forget. Harder still was the fact that she couldn't see Zeke anywhere. "Zeke! ZEKE!" Her screaming now had words to it.
