Everything was slowly starting to feel like it was as it should be. Sure Faith hadn't given her the warmest of welcomes, but she hadn't kicked her out. She shouldn't have been so afraid that it would happen -- Faith had never pushed her away like that. A smile spread across her face at the reminder that Faith was still upset with her. "I know." Frankie tried to remain humble when she spoke, but there was a gleam in her eye; she was getting through to Faith and she knew it. Faith hadn't yelled at her or swatted her away when Frankie had leaned down to kiss her. She was confident that by the end of the night, Faith would be unable to be anything but happy with her.
Frankie couldn't help but smirk at Faith's comment over the poptarts. The other woman could fuss at her all she liked, but until Faith actually caught Frankie in the act of giving the hedgehog bits of food, she would claim innocence. Of course the truth was that she was incredibly guilty. When she was bored -- and alone with Sonic -- she enjoyed making little trails of food that ran along the floor, on to counter-tops, or anywhere else that she could think of that the hedgehog could get to to follow. It was the cutest thing to listen to him grunt as he worked his way from one bit of food to another. Frankie fought the urge to press a kiss to the soft part of Sonic's head and tell him how proud she was that he had managed to get to Faith's stash of poptarts; she didn't think it would help her situation to encourage the little guy's penchant for stealing Faith's food.
When Frankie had seen the little hat in the village market, she had known that there was no way Faith could see it on Sonic and not melt. The other woman's reaction had been exactly what she had wanted. She gladly handed the hedgehog over so that she could take advantage of seeing Faith coo over him. Frankie had known that she had missed the two of them, Faith more than anything, but it wasn't until just now that she realized how much. She was happy to be home -- home being with them -- and the feeling sent a pang to her heart. "Shit," she muttered under her breath when the sting of tears hit the back of her eyes. She may have allowed Faith to see the gentler side of her, but allowing her to see her cry was a tall order. Frankie took a deep breath and swallowed the feeling down as she turned to walk back over to her bags. "What would be the fun in telling you?" Both of Faith's gifts were wrapped in fabric and placed carefully in one of the bags, hidden underneath the flowers that she had purchased at the airport. She collected them all up in her hands and walked back over to Faith and Sonic on the couch. "These are for you," Frankie said as she extended the bouquet of the other woman's favorite flowers in Faith's direction. "And so are these," this spoken as she took a seat next to the other woman. First, she placed the wrapped photo album that she had hand-made in Faith's lap; inside were developed pictures of them together from every place they had traveled over he past few years. On top of that, she set the wrapped knife she had bought in South America; the handle was hand-carved wood and Frankie had asked the maker to carve Faith's initials and a small mongoose onto the handle. "I really hope you like them," she bit her lip as she spoke. She had made it one step close in getting the other woman to accept her gifts, now she just hoped that Faith wouldn't dismiss them because she was still 'not happy' with her.
