That chaste kiss was more tempting than Winifred probably knew, but Isaiah wasn't about to embarrass either of them out in his parents' driveway. He smiled against Winifred's lips, letting himself enjoy it for a second before pulling back. "I will, you know that," he told her. "Perhaps I'll make you dinner." And Isaiah making dinner, while not a rare thing, meant that they were going to eat well, no doubt about that. The harder part would be deciding on what to make, and it might come down to what he wanted to eat that day. Pasta, steak, either way, it was going to be delicious.
He could hear Jocelyn and Lizzy on the other side of the door, and he smiled. "Yep," he said. "I know my dad wasn't closing tonight, so I'm pretty sure he beat us here and already started dinner." Okay, so dinner with his entire family was a little different than date night, but at least he knew Winifred like them and they liked her and everyone got along. He couldn't say that for everyone he'd brought home, friend or otherwise. Opening the door, he grinned at the sight of his sisters together. Jocelyn had yet to really outgrow being picked up, and the fact that all the boys were definitely strong enough to still do so didn't really help much.
If Isaiah wasn't grinning before, he definitely was now. "Hey there you too," he said, holding his free arm out for a hug. "I'm glad everyone's here." There was more behind his words than he was saying, and Lizzy would be able to tell that. "Dad's making dinner?" Isaiah could smell it already, which meant that was a yes.
