When Darcie told Rodger that she was 'going out' he didn't take it as well as shw thought he should've. That was probably because he'd spoken with Zaviar since the other morning. Darcie didn't see why that had been such a big deal. She hadn't actually bitten her, but admittedly that wasn't for a lack of trying. That wasn't important. Important would've been if she'd changed her, or better yet poisoned her because then she'd be dead or on her way to and she wouldn't be a problem anymore. She kept coming back and -- was that a breeze? All thoughts of Madeleine just vanished as the gentle, hardly-there breeze tugged at a piece of her hair. Darcie sucked her cheeks in, eyes wide with what was about to become panic as she ducked into the nearest shop without a care for what was inside. What mattered, what was important was that Air was after her again. Why coudn't he just leave her alone?? Darcie hadn't meant offense when she'd got bitten she'd just wanted to be something else.
It wasn't her fault that she couldn't keep her elementalism after Zaviar bit her.
Rather than draw in deep breaths to try and calm herself down, Darcie held her breath until she was certain that Air wasn't going to invade her lungs and choke her completely out. He'd do that. God knew that he'd bloody well tried enough times since her turning. And until the Light of May none of the psychologists or doctors had believed it possible that breathing was dangerous. She still didn't think they understood just how dangerous it was, but they didn't need to. Air wasn't out to get them after all. He wanted her. But for the moment she was somewhat safe so she flicked her tongue out to catch the scents of whoever else had taken refuge here. Instead she caught a heavy mix of herbs, stones and other things that she associated with her friends back in England, and Zaviar. A magic shop then. Darcie's interest was caught by a large, shiny piece of rose quartz and she moved to touch it, fascinated by the smoothness under her fingers. "So what's this supposed to do?" Darcie asked a woman dressed like she worked here.
