What was worse: having invited Nikita into the house herself or that time when she had emerged from her bedroom for dinner with Kristen and her friend to discover that said friend was, out of all the people in the world, Nikita. She still wondered how they had ended up in the same small city in Michigan when before they had been in New York City. Could she not have just gone back to Russia? Missy could not have gone back to Australia, never, there were too many memories there to haunt her. So she was left staying here where she had the visa to work, and Nikita was there too. Mouth twisting she sniffed at the grin that exposed fangs, grabbing her half-empty can of pop off the counter before leaning against the wall. Thank god that Kristen had not gone on another 'hide the caffeine' spree because there was no way in hell that Missy was capable of dealing with this woman if she had a headache. "Mmm, here I thought I could always remember you from all the lies you told me. I like those better. It's more personal, sheila, and that way I can remember that you're just that much worse than the other fangers." Her voice was a bored drawl as she took a drink. But it was true. Missy could hardly count the scars that she had gotten from all of her hunts. Note to self: don't sit on that couch for at least a week.
"In my best interest?" Missy arched a brow and snorted, crossing one arm over her stomach so that she could rest her elbow on it. She held her hand just below her face and shook her head. "Are you threatening me, Nikita? Kristen's perfectly capable of making her own choices and if she takes a little longer to apologize to Silvia then that's her right. She's been through a lot these past few months." Demons attacking, Missy getting a girlfriend, nearly getting killed by a demon, finding out that their family had really been killed by vampires and that Missy hunted them... really, was it surprising that at some point she snapped? I helped. There was a twinge in the back of her mind that might have been guilt but the last person she would admit that to was Nikita. "I'm more concerned with keeping her alive, in something approaching stable mental health and away from bad influences than whether she takes a week or a month to apologize to a friend whose gone from dead to alive to living with a vampire since the summer started." She remembered attending the funeral for the Andersons where it was just assumed that Silvia was dead since no one had found her and the scene was such a mess that no one could tell. Kristen had taken that terribly and Missy could not blame her for being unsure how to react to the girl now.
"I've been taking care of Kristen for the past four years and you've had Silvia for what, a week? I think it's in your best bloody interest to not tell me how I should handle things with her. I don't give a damn how old you are, you're new to this. So don't try pulling an attitude that says you know better. Because you don't."
