She was so full of life and energy that it made Michael think about how he was back when he was still growing into his wings. The younger ones always seemed so spirited and happy. Cecilia was like that, too. Though with all he had experienced, Michael couldn't find a reason to smile like Regina was. Part of him envied that, but another part ached for her, knowing there would come a day when she wouldn't smile.
He did like how direct she was, instead of continuing the rave about mortal drinks. Michael was always for talking angelic matters instead of human ordeals; there was far less eyerolling. "Justice," he commented after a beat, then picked up his coffee to take another sip. "A rather vague assignment, I suppose, but you'd be surprised by how many people disregard the law." And he didn't mean the human's version of law by any means. There were mundane values that people tended to break: lying, cheating, stealing, killing... The list went on. Always did. "Suppose you could say I'm here to put everyone in line. God knows they need it." A wry smile flashed across his lips for a moment. "And what about you?"
