Do my best with every breath that's in me
Who: The Elias family
Where: Elias home
When: Evening
No matter what else had happened during the day it was a wonderful day because it was Cheila's birthday. How Aurora had managed to remember that was a mystery, but she had. She always remembered the birthday's of her family even when they were not together and insisted on at least singing a song for them. Today was different because they were all in the same city so they could be together for it. She could actually wish Cheila a happy birthday, give her a present, have cake with her... it was so very exciting that she had been unable to stop smiling for the entire day. Even when she really should have because what was happening was not smile-worthy she had still been unable to wipe it off her face. Because tonight she and Aetheria were going to go to the house for Cheila's party. She had gotten someone to dial the phone for her so that she could discuss the details with Diana and it was all set. There was even going to be an ice cream cake. Those were two of the best things being combined into one and Aurora was probably just as excited to try that as she was to be with the whole family again. If everyone came.
Tugging at the gloves she had pulled on earlier in the day, Aurora fidgeted as she stood in the living room waiting. She had already set her gift on one of the tables, or actually someone else had set it there for her, and now what she really wanted was for Cheila to be there. Where exactly her older sister was she had no idea except for the fact that it was obviously not right in that same room. 'I don't get why you're so excited,' Neveah admitted from where she had perched somewhere outside. The owl had become so insistent about following her around since the whole angels and demons thing. As though she could really do anything against a demon. 'It's not like it's your birthday.' No, mine isn't as much fun. Don't you have birthdays? 'No.' Oh. It would be a terrible thing to be an owl without a birthday or a family. Except Neveah was lucky because she had the Elias family, both the elementals and then the familiars that were added on since somehow they had all ended up as birds. Aurora thought that was just the neatest thing ever.
Fidgeting, Aurora shifted away from the wall, moving carefully to avoid the various pieces of furniture and the walls. If she ran into one of those then someone was going to start fussing and probably try to make her sit down. Which someone would depend on whoever was the closest most likely. Aurora did not want to sit down, she wanted to stand and get used to the house even if she was not living there. Maybe someday. "Do we have candles for the cake?" she asked no one in particular, only just remembering that that was something that was supposed to happen. It went with birthdays. Someone had to have remembered candles. Normally it would have been Barnabas, but from what Aurora had heard he was still not that much better and not himself yet.
