Winifred paced alongside the stranger, glancing down aisles and wishing she hadn't even bothered to ask for help. She should have just walked around looking for Isaiah herself, instead of having to prove to herself that she could be near this demonic-blooded man. Like she really needed to be around another person who made her heart beat way too fast in a bad way. Her personal wards were specifically against people that wished to harm her, and so far they hadn't done anything funny. She felt out with her senses, making sure they were intact. She sighed with a little bit of reassurance as she found that they were still there, the magic coiled around her person like an invisible shield.
Winifred smiled weakly up at the man, flinching a bit as he tapped her shoulder with a little more force. "Yes. You could say that." Because at this point? She just wanted to find Isaiah and even if they had never actually had the "talk", she didn't want to spend any more time with this man than was necessary. At his next statement, her lower lip stuck out a bit of its own accord before she could stop the expression. Biting into her lip, she glanced at the floor and then back up at the man's eyes. Just in time to catch the fact that the color of said eyes had flashed red. Her eyes widened and the retort died in her throat and she took a step back. She couldn't look away, though, and for some reason she felt as though she were rooted to the spot, unable to move or to get away.
Just as suddenly as she felt paralyzed with fear, another emotion started to work its way into her. She blinked a few times, slowly, her eyes opening to narrowed slits of bright blue, and her face softened into a lazy smile. The worry and fear and unease she had felt was slowly wiped away, and close on its heels came a sensation of heat that filled her body. It was a slow dance of fire that crept into her skin and she felt a flutter as her heart beat fiercely against her chest in excitement. Her pulse sent warm eddies of desire flowing her body and settling in the pit of her stomach and below. A small part of her brain was on full alert, and she felt that small bit of her scream at the wrongness of what she was feeling, but she silenced it with a breathy sigh.
Almost at once, the man in front of her no longer looked like a formidable stranger, and more like someone she would like to get to know better. Winifred smiled at him as a thought kept tugging at her. There was someone she was looking for...a bright shining someone who she needed to find. She parted her lips to make a reply and was interrupted by the sound of hurried footsteps behind her.
