Who: Malachy and Alfie What: roommate bonding through ski-ball! Where: arcade When: Wednesday evening
Malachy was still disappointed, even hours later, that he couldn't call his roommate Alf. He didn't have anything against the name Alfie, of course, it was a perfectly fine name, but there was just something so appealing about the shortened form, and Malachy knew it was going to be difficult to keep himself from saying it. But the way Alfie had threatened to kill him had sounded like less of a joke than Malachy would have liked, so he decided to work his hardest on making sure not to make the man angry. He was no longer puzzled, though, as to why Peter had refused to pass judgment on Alfie Danger-James. Malachy suspected there were things to know about this man that would upset him if he heard about them. He just gave off the creepiest vibe.
But there wasn't much of anything about ski ball that could be considered creepy, and he was happy to be doing something fun with his roommate. "So you come here a lot, do you?" Malachy asked as he opened the door to the arcade, allowing Alfie to pass through it ahead of him. "You're probably quite a bit better at this game than I am. I've not played in quite a long time. I hope you won't be disappointed if I'm not a worthy competitor." |
