WHO: Riley Morgan and Caitlan Odes. WHAT: Checking on Riley and his hangover after work. WHEN: Jan 30th, around 9pm. WHERE: Riley's room.
Before work that morning, Caitlan had stopped by Riley's room to drop off two bottles of chilled water and what was left of her bottle of aspirin. She wasn't a hangover expert, but she knew enough to know that they left killer headaches and she'd heard that water was the number one craving. Probably since drinking left you dehydrated. Then again, Caitlan had never been drunk and only knew what her friends said and what she had read on the internet about the after effects. That morning, however, she hadn't woken him up; instead, she had elected to leave it on the nightstand. Something told her that being disturbed while hungover wouldn't go over so smoothly.
So she'd gone about her day normally. Work, friends, errands, personal things, e-mails, calling her family--the things that she did every single day that made her day hers. There was exciting news from her little sister (she'd received her first kiss!) and that had been the highlight of her day. Caitlan hadn't expected to be so excited for her and, even though she was a little surprised, they'd spent nearly thirty minutes squealing and gossiping about it like small children would something trivial. It felt nice, she thought, having a bonding moment with her sister. Especially since she hadn't gotten to see her in six months.
Now, however, her day was winding down and Caitlan was again curious as to Riley's state of well-being. And she wondered if he'd gotten the note and goodies she'd left. It was very common for her to worry about her friends. Taking the familiar route to his room, she stood outside the door for a few seconds to see if she could hear anything--the television, a radio, chatter--but when nothing distinct greeted her, she raised her hand and knocked very softly on the door. Maybe he was out doing it again, she thought to herself, and then found that she hoped not.
