The first entry of this round will be up in ten minutes, now a few formal things.

On most days two gifts will be posted (on both LJ and IJ), and it means that we'll be finished in about ten days, the master list will go up three days later. Until then, all authors and artists must remain anonymous and not post their works elsewhere.

Comments are highly encouraged, this is the only way to let our participants know that you enjoyed their work.

If you decide to rec something in an open post (not friends locked), please, comment here with the link (or PM mod_less, or email orpheus_on_samhain_night@yahoo.co.uk – whatever you're comfortable with). Three recs of the same entry means that it can be recced in daily_snitch, spreading Lily/Severus love :)

Just a reminder that today is due date. I haven't heard from three participants yet.

We have about four and a half weeks to go until due date, March 19th. Hope everything is going well! But if you think you are going to have a problem getting your story done and betaed before that date, it's always better to contact the mods sooner rather than later.

This is also a reminder that your work needs to be spell-checked and beta-read (we reserve the right to send back to you anything which looks like it hasn't been), so if you haven't already found yourself a beta-reader for your story, now's the time!

If you would like to offer your services as a beta, leave a comment on the LJ community post so others can contact you. (Anyone can do so, not just fest participants.) You can also ask if anyone can beta for you. However, please remember it's your responsibility to find a beta elsewhere if no one responds.

Here is the header that should be pasted into your story document or included in the email for an art submission: Please, use the template sent to you along with your assignment. I'm sorry for the confusion.

You can credit your beta in the notes area if you wish, but this will be edited down to just the first letter of the name, to preserve anonymity until the reveal.

On the 31 of October 1981 the Potters have been killed. All because of the prophecy that Sybill Trelawney made, Albus Dumbledore listened to, Severus Snape eavesdropped and passed on to his master, Lord Voldemort, who in turn believed in it and acted on it.

Lily's death was the motivation of the whole adult life of Severus Snape, his deepest regret, something he has never forgiven himself for.

That Lord Voldemort made Lily, among others, his aim, Severus knew for about a year before that tragic night. What did he do to save his beloved? What happened that we haven't been shown in canon? Maybe there was only one tiny element that needed to be changed to change the whole outcome?


...or maybe it didn't happen at all?

The last gift has just been posted. We had 23 stories and artworks in total. We'll leave a couple of days for everyone to catch up and then the masterlist/reveal will be posted on Wednesday.

Authors/artists, don't forget to check for comments to your works on both journal sites. Many comments have only been posted in one place, not both.

A big THANK YOU to everyone for making this possible. There could not have been an exchange without all of you to write and make your wonderful art!

Some people use exclusively IJ, while most folks are still on LJ, hence submissions will be posted on both LJ and IJ, with comments enabled here and there.

Some people might receive more than one gift, it means that they submitted more than one gift :)

The fest begins tomorrow. Is everyone as excited about it as the mods are? :)

We have twenty gifts to give thus posting will end on June 20. Unlike previously stated the reveal list will be posted on June 25 and until then all works must stay anonymous i.e. no posting elsewhere till June 26.

The artists and authors presented variety of themes and interpretations. You will have plenty to choose from, everybody will find something for them.

Comments are food for the authors and artists, be generous with them.

If you like something enough to rec it in your journal, please, comment here with the link to your rec. Three recs of the same fic or art means that mods can rec it at daily_snitch. If we want Lily/Severus community to grow we have to spread the word.

For the authors: instead of impatiently refreshing the page where your art/fic is posted, you can use the 'track' button (a pin) to be notified via e-mail, TxtLJ or IM when somebody comments on your work.

The last but very important thing. Unfortunately, we had several drop-outs. Pinch-hitters were contracted when it was impossible to swap already existing, meant for other people works but we still might need two or three of them for fics. If you're ready to help us, please send your offer to orpheus_on_samhain_night@yahoo.co.uk with your strengths and no-nos. Requirements: responsibility, be able to produce a quality, on theme work in short time, reliable internet access.

Drop-outs also mean that several works have been orphaned, i.e. they have no recipient. Some of our participants will receive an e-mail asking if they agree for swaps, if not, their work will be posted 'for all Lily/Severus shippers'. Please, answer these e-mails asap.

I have all the confirmation emails I needed. Once again my apologies for inconvenience and thanks for understanding and being flexible. There is no point in drawing/writing for someone who won't contribute their work in return.

If you absolutely have to drop out - let me know as well. I know there are some cases when it's impossible, but in general failing to contact your mod is the biggest exchange!crime ever, really.
