Who: Miklos and Phoenix
When: Around 9 at night.
Where: Deserted classroom in the dungeons
Why: Some manly bonding.
Rating: PG-13
Status: Closed, Incomplete

Miklos made a cursory inspection of the corridor before he started toward the deserted classroom. He really wasn't in the mood to get caught. Detentions were really only fun if he got them in Charms or Divinations. In that case, both professors were so hot that he was glad to stay after and be their willing whipping boy.

Nothing had ever come of it, but he was willing to be patient. He was a seventh year now, and if it was going to happen, it'd be this year. And if it never happened ... it still made for damn good wank material.

His own footfall was the only sound as he turned into the smaller corridor leading to his favorite hang out and make out spot. It'd be a tragedy of epic proportions if they sealed the room off. He might never recover.

He started inside the room, which was filthy and dust covered until he got a good five steps in. At that point, the illusion faded and the room showed itself to be reasonably clean and set up for a small gathering or an illicit meeting. Honestly, he had no idea who had first discovered the room and created the charm. He kinda liked it like that. It felt like a gift from the previous generations. He could imagine the last person who used the room shutting the door for the last time, a small smile on their face as they silently bequeathed it to the next person adventurous enough to find it. At the end of the year, he'd do the same.

A few short minutes later, he heard someone approaching and smiled as Phoenix entered the room.

Miklos laughed and a took a healthy gulp of the fire whiskey before passing it back. The liquid burned going down his throat, but it promised good things, so he was willing to go with it.

"Merlin forbid, not dust. How could I compare orgasms to dust?" He laughed good naturedly, his expression hopefully telling Phoenix that was he was just playing. "I'll admit that it's not the ideal location for a romantic tryst, but our options are limited here at the castle."

He took another drag of his cigarette, almost enjoying the mixture of smoke and whiskey on his tongue. Reclining back further on the desk, he stretched his legs out in front of him.

"Hey, I've always been a friendly guy." He smirked to himself and then added, "But it's just ..." He fluttered his hand lazily. "Entertainment."

Once the fask was naded back to him, he once again took a generous sip, all while he listened intenly on his cousin's words. He gave the other a well-deserved glare for making fun of him, but smiled, knowing no real harm was meant. "Though it is limitless, there are places that are far cleaner that this one. Preferrably those in the higher floors. The dungeons has always been a dirty place. And you, apparently, contribute greatly to that." he threw at the other, laughing a little as he handed the drink to Miklos for his turn. He left his cigarette between his lips before shruggin ghis robe and throwing it on the spot beside Miklos on the desk. "Everyone has retired from the Astronomy Tower phase, and now they've all scattered about the place. Oh, if ony the walls can speak, they would probably say 'you again?' when you entered this room." he announced, taking the spot beside him, but staying seated on the edge, his feet dangling under him. "Oh, is friendly what you call that these days?" He was grinning, a gesture that required a little effort for the usually indifferent young Malfoy. "Entertainment? Shows how different we are then, given that I would think 'reading' or 'watching people make a fool of themselves' at the mention of such a term." Another drag.

"But the dungeons are ours. Dark and mysterious, and besides, some girls get into the mystique."

He chuckled a little himself and decided not to mention that though they all liked to think of themselves as above cleaning, it wouldn't actually take more than a few flicks of the wrist to rid the room of the dirt, dusk and whatever Phoenix thought he saw multiplying in the corner.

"Anyway, it's isolated. It's a short trip from Slytherin, and no one is going to pop their head in to get an eye full and then give me detention. Mock all you like. I like my little room."

Miklos happily took another chug of the whiskey. Even happier, he gave the flask a little shake and heard that it still sounded completely full. An entire body of fire whiskey had gone inside the small flask, and damn, wasn't that just handy?

"That's the difference between us, dear cousin. You like to watch people, and I like to interact with them. I'm positive that you see more than I do, but I get to touch. And be touched." He smiled genuinely and gave a small shrug. "It's not so bad."

Some part of Phoenix couldn't fully believe they were talking about girls in such a manner, though wasn't too inclined to mention anything. If Athena, or Peyton would only hear this discussion, he'd surely hear an earful. "Yes, I'm certian our ancestors did entrust the dungeons to us, though I'm not sure they had your extra-curricular activities in mind. Or did they?" he trailed off thoughtfully, the thought quite amusing. When the other offered his arguement, Phoenix took a few thoughtful drags of his cigarette, nodding. "Well, I suppose you do have a point. This location is rather convenient. and I don't mock, dear cousin. That's too strong a term. I'd rather think of it as just me offering a good, strong argument. I'm perfectly harmless."

He turned slightly at the sound of the other shaking the flask and made a sound of amusement. "Handy little thing isn't it? I thought you'd appreciate that one feature. Did you put a whole bottle in there?" he asked, taking it from his proffered hand. "You're right, we're quite different, but it's a musing to see us getting along. I choose those I interact with. Not because of arrogance, but because it is only a few that I know who will understand why I am the way I am. I don't perceive it as such as a bad thing, even though I appear judgemental to others." A pause. "Do you think it's wrong?"

He made an indignant noise at the other's next statement, however, and made a face of mortification. "Oh, Merlin. You have just shoved me to a very horrible dark mental place with all that talk about touching. I think I have to recover by thinking of something else now... Like, women, wearing nothing but gold paint..." At this his threw his head and drank... and drank.

"Given our heritage, cousin, I'm sure my extra-curricular activities seem shockingly tame." He gave a shake of his head and added, "In comparison, I'm as harmless as you are ... though I doubt that means anything at all."

He fell into deep thoughts for all of twenty seconds before Phoenix mentioned the flask, and then his face blossomed into an easy, happy grin.

"It's brilliant! Got the entire bottle in there. I was so bloody happy."

He took the last drag of his cigarette and put it out against the back of the desk. He set the butt on the end of the table, though he doubted that he'd remember to clean up after himself if he drank as much as he thought they were going to. Hell, he'd just have to come back and tidy up tomorrow.

While he was fussy with that, he listened absently to Phoenix talk about his nature. When the other guy asked his opinion, Miklos shook his head.

"Phoenix, I have no idea. Don't think anyone does, honestly. And the people who act like they've got it all figured out, well, they always end up being prats, right?" He shrugged. "Do whatever makes you happy, yeah?"

Miklos cracked up at gold body paint comment and laughed the entire time that Phoenix chugged, and then some.

"Though, gotta say, I do think it's a little wrong that you're not even getting head. I mean, you're doing something wrong, mate. You know what I mean?"

"Yes, I suppose ritual animal saughters are just a touch more morbid, as comparison to your activities." Phoenix reasoned. "Though I would think you're the only one who truly knows if that statement is true or not." The same teasing tone was in his voice. He liked being a little less serious, he found; it was a refreshing change from his normal self. He could feel his cheeks already starting to surn up from the alcohol and he could feel his tongue was slightly more loose than before.

A nod was given at the other's pleased appearance. "I'm glad to see this." he stated. The other's words about his small inquiry was neither comforting, nor reassuring. Though he realized a second later, that he was not looking for either anyway. The other had a point, however, one he actually agreed with. "I suppose. Even if you did just call me a prat." he said, laughing, before he too extinguised his fag behind him. "I am doing just that. I'm not planning on making any adjustments for anyone..."

When he finished his chug, he shook his head once hes straightened and handed it back to his cousin. "I just washed away your upsetting images in my head. Thank you, firewhiskey." then turned to him, with a curious eyebrow raised. "What do you mean I'm doing something wrong? And quit looking at me like I'm some creature from another world. It's... normal." he said, even though he didn't sound too convincing even in his own ears.

"Hmm. I'm not sure even my sexual practices are as deviant as ritual animal sacrifice. I mean, sure, my tastes don't exactly run to the vanilla, but I'm not smearing blood over my body and tressing the girls up on a St. Andrew's Cross or anything." He stopped to laugh at the visual and added, "I don't think I'd get nearly as many girls down here if they knew that was what was waiting for them."

Miklos took the flask back and take a long draw. Honestly, he hadn't been calling Phoenix a prat. Only those people who lectured others on how they should be living their life annoyed him. Though, given that criteria he was probably making a prat of himself as he spoke.

"Not saying you're doing anything wrong, exactly. I get that you're picky, and frankly, probably a little much for the average girl, but, just ... keep in mind that you're missing out on a few highly pleasurable things by being so internal."

Miklos took a second drag of the flask without thought and then passed it back to Phoenix. His head was already getting fuzzy, and he was obviously talking a little more reflectively than he usually would.

"But what the hell do I know? I like sex. It's my thing. You have your own things."

None of which could possibly equal the entertainment value of a good sexual encounter, but maybe the guy didn't need to know that.

Usually, Phoenix would have responded to such a comment with an expression of utmost mortification. Though now at his intoxicated state, he responded to such with a small, highly uncharacteristic giggle. "I don't know why I'm laughing." he admitted, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. "Arent I suppose to not appreciate that mental image?" He reached out one hand and asked Miklos to hand him his packet of cigarettes. "It migt be because the whiskey's getting to me. But you are right, though if you will do such a thing, you might want to approach the situation a little differently. Be a little discrete about it. After all, the element of surprise gives you a significant advantage. Oh, and I heard its a potent aphrodisiac, though I'm not sure what that contributes to this arguement..."

By this time, Phoenix didn't have much control over the things that left his mouth, and it might be becoming quite apparent to Miklos, he thought. "I prefer to be called reserved, maybe even guarded. Internal makes me sound like... a douche, to put it eloquently." he said, with a slight pouting of his lips. "And maybe I am. I don't know how to not be... like this. It doesn't bother me. Why should it bother you?" His asked, though not at all rudely.

"I like reading." He pointed one finger towards Miklos, a slight slur in his usually crisp tone. "And you like sex. That sounds very wrong, doesn't it?" he asked, laughing. "Maybe... just maybe, I should find your sort of entertainment more often, yes? Though I'd like really clean spaces, please. Not dirty classrooms..."

"Well, what do you know? There's a little freak in there after all."

Miklos laughed and take an impressive gulp of the whiskey. He shook the flask again, found that it still sounded full, and gave a contented sigh. Damn thing was brilliant!

"You're not a douche, Phoenix. You're my friend." Miklos spoke with complete seriousness and then heard his words and gave an embarrassed shake of his head. "Er, doesn't bother me much. Just thinking of you, is all."

He watched the smoke roll out of Phoenix's mouth and asked, "Can I?" as he reached for a cig. At the other boy's words, he decided that it was time to mention the undesirable.

"You could always do a charm to clean the place up, you know? Wouldn't take much." Those words were hesitant and then he gave a huge grin and added, "And then you could get down and dirty without the evil dust attacking you!"

A sound that was a cross between a snort and a 'psh' escaped the young Malfoy. "A freak?" he repeated, taking the fag between his fingers to slightly pursed lips. "Hardly. It just mean I hear too much, even things I don't want to know. Unfortunate at times, but rather helpful at times..."

"Does that not mean I cannot be both?" Phoenix challenged. By now, he was starting to get light-headed, his speech tainted with a touch of slur, and his eyes narrowed. He might not yet be drunk, but surely he was getting there. "I appreciate the concern, however, my friend." he said, patting the other's knee.

When the other asked to take a puff of his fag, he immediately handed it to him. "I know a few charms as well. But they can only go so far. Even if it looks clean, it doesn't mean it is." then the other spoke again, and Phoenix then laughed. "I bet the dust bugs don't concern you at all, since you're probably distracted. Though I do have to ask, have you ever been in... such an intimate predicament with a girl you hardly like?"

"There's nothing wrong with being a freak," Miklos commented wryly.

He tried to follow Phoenix's train of thought, but honestly the whiskey was starting to distract him. He took a long minute, weighing the likelihood that his friend was a douche before giving a decided shake of his head.

"I know douches, and you, dear Phoenix, are not a douche." He held up a hand to forestall any argument, though he wasn't sure that one was coming. "I've decided."

He took a drag off of the cigarette and handed it back, letting the smoke leak from his mouth on the exhale. It didn't work that well, because he'd already inhaled the smoke, but it was amusing him. At Phoenix's unexpected question, he looked up with a slight frown.

"If I say yes am I the douche?" he asked softly. He shrugged before Phoenix could answer and continued on. "I guess so. I've never pursued a bird that I didn't like in some way, but it's real hard to say no when they start taking their clothes off, you know?"

"It's a negative term." Phoenix reasoned. "Isn't it? It depends on how you use it, I suppose..."

By this time, it was quite apparent that both of them were more than just a tad tipsy. When the other raised his hand up, he stared at it, as if fascinated. A second after he pushed it down with his index. "I wasn't going to argue." he said matter-of-factly. "I sort of like not being a douche, I have come to realize."

Taking the fag back from his cousin's extended hand, he placed it to his lips and took a drag himself. His expression did not change at the other's answer, and he lifted his hand and gazed at the burning tip of his cigarette between his fingers. "Perhaps." he said, smiling now. "Depends on who you ask, I guess. But after that last sentence, I'll say yes if you ask me again." At this, he pushed himself from the edge and leaned back against the wall beside his cousin, closing his eyes, then nudging his cousin's arm a second later. "Do you suppose we can still walk to our dorms at this state?"

"It's a negative term to the ordinary and the boring," Miklos intoned, very seriously.

A second later he burst out laughing and shook his head, not really sure what he was talking about. He laughed again when Phoenix announced that he was happy not to be a douche. Really, it wasn't a bad thing to shoot for.

"So now I'm the douche, huh?" Miklos have a little shake of his head, disturbed by the turn in their conversation. "Have you ever tried to turn a girl down when she's topless and has her hand down your pants? It's damn near impossible, I tell you."

Miklos jumped from the desk, took a surprised step forward when his legs threatened to give out of him, and straightened with pride.

"I can do anything I put my mind to! I am the great and mighty Miklos!"

He cackled to himself as he practically collapsed back against the desk, the boys' limbs half tangled together in their drunken clumsiness.

"Ah, but we are neither ordinary nor boring, my friend." Phoenix voiced out consideringly, nodding. "Then I suppose this can only mean that we must revel at the thought of being freaks." he said, saying the last word as if it was some foreign language.

"Yes. I'm saying you are." Phoenix took his last drag of cigarette, before extinguishing it at the bottom of his boot and flicking it to the side. "And you've just reinforced it with that new statement." Again, his lips curled at the mental image his cousin just provided for him. "Will you ever stop with the scarring mental images? I'd rather not invest on therapy anytime soon, please..."

When he heard the sudden movement in the room, he opened his eyes and watched with much sadistic amusement as the other quite ungracefully flailed around the room on his unstable legs. A second after, the other slumped against the table. "DO you know what I am thinking right now?" he asked, snickering, but continued before the other can even speak. "I direly want to kick you and just watch what happens. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!"

"Fine, but if I'm a douche I'm changing my mind. You've got to be a douche with me."

Miklos frowned at the cigarette butt that Phoenix tossed on the floor. He'd have to pick that up tomorrow. Because, despite what Phoenix thought, Miklos loved his little room. It was like a second home to him and he enjoyed the atmosphere and the history he could feel inside the room.

At Phoenix's threat to kick him, Miklos swung his arm to the side idly, hitting his friend with the back of his hand half heartedly.

"Don't you kick me!" He tried to raise himself up to glare into Phoenix' eyes but gave up half way and collapsed back against the desk. "I'll take you with me, douche!"

"No, I don't think you're allowed to take that proclamation back." Phoenix reasoned, shaking his head even though the action made him dizzier. He massaged his temples for a second. "No, no. I don't think you can. It makes you an even bigger douche if you did, for your shakable beliefs..."

When the other had hit him, he had only laughed mockingly at the other. He looked pretty ridiculous, he noted. "I will if you hit me again." he warned, then laughed some more at the other's struggle to get up. He closed one hand over the edge of the table, to support himself, and just incase the other did pull him when he suddeny lost his balance. Teasingly, he nudged the other with his foot, just to see how he will react to it.

"You're a mean drunk," Miklos announce sulkily.

He had the distinct impression that he was being mocked, and he didn't really like it very much. He sighed and pouted for a second until Phoenix kicked his leg and then he laughed despite himself.

"You're asking for it!" he warned.

He studied his friend out of the corner of his eye, trying to decide on a proper course of action. Nothing too drastic. Something funny. Finally, idly, he fished a pen out of his pocket and reached over to draw a heart on Phoenix's cheek.
