who; Dominique Weasley and Jasper Finnigan
when; Thursday 17th, Breakfast time
where; Great Hall
what; Love potion chaos!
rating; PG
status; In progress

One look. That's all it took for Dominique to fall in love with Jasper Finnigan. How had she spent so many years without realizing how incredibly cute and adorable he was, she had no idea; but at least she had noticed him on time, before he graduated. She looked at him from across the table and giggled softly as she finished her breakfast. It was impossible for her to take her eyes off him. He was by far the most handsome guy in the school. And it was so great that he loved Divination as much as she did.

Taking the last bite at her toast and finishing her pumpking juice, she got up and headed toward him without hesitation. "Hi Jasper." She said with a big smile, sitting down next to him.

Jasper had been enjoying his breakfast, content to not really talk to anyone and just think as he ate. Then Dominique Weasley came and sat down beside him. He was confused, of course. It wasn't that he didn't know her, because they were in the same House, but they'd never really talked before. Taking a bite of his toast he looked at her carefully wondering why she'd come over and said hi. He didn't feel he was the type of person Dominique would generally talk to.

"Hi." He said slowly after he'd swallowed the bite of toast. Hesitating before taking another he debated asking what she wanted, but thought that might be rude. Besides, he didn't think he could say more than just 'hi' for now. That was how he got with most girls, maybe not Bryn because she made him comfortable, but definitely Dominique Weasley made him nervous.

Oh, he had such a beautiful voice. So manly. Mini felt like she could listened to his voice forever and never grow tired of it. It was just perfect, just like him. She giggled sotly again, giving him a sweet and adoring look.

If she wanted to have a conversation with him, she knew she would have to talk about what they boh had in common, divination. And lucky for her, she had a great story to tell him so they would talk. A story that was totally fake, but he didn't need to know that little fact. "Do you thinkit's possible to see the future in a toast? Because the first toast I took this morning had a burn with the shape of a heart. Do you think it means something?"

The giggle, the look, it all made Jasper even more confused. He wondered briefly if perhaps Dominique had him mistaken for someone else and he looked around quickly as if expecting for some other guy to walk over and demand what Jasper was doing talking to her. Of course, that didn't happen and Dominique started talking about divination concerning toast, which made Jasper even more confused. A burn in the shape of a heart? Meaning what?

"It's possible." He said, stammering slightly on the last words. "Though, I can't say I've ever recieved any information about the future on a piece of toast." He continued, giving her a questioning look. "What would it mean anyway? That you've fallen in love with someone?" He laughed slightly, but not in a mean way, just because the idea seemed funny to him. Finding out you love someone by a burn on a piece of toast.

When Jasper spoke, Dominique listened to him closely, paying no attention whatsover to anyone on around the Great Hall. She had only had eyes for him... Merlin, he was so cute whe he laughed! She thought before answering his question. "Of course! What else could it mean? And it is quite strange to find information about the future on a toast, but just think that the future may not always come to us in the form of crystal balls, tea leaves or dreams. What if we need to know something quick and we don't have any of the usual methods to know the future around? It seems logical that the future would've come to me in form of a burn on a toast, doesn't it?"

At first Jasper didn't know what to say, or do. He just wasn't used to people listening so closely to what he said, to seeming so interested in the things he did. Granted, there were a few exceptions, but he had never even considered that Dominique would be one of them. It was confusing. He agreed with her that the future didn't always come in dreams, crystal balls or tea leaves, but he was skeptical about the toast. Sure, it could probably happen, Jasper knew that people saw signs in all kinds of things. If you knew how, you could tell things just by the wind, or other things that people simply overlooked from day to day.

"So, then what do you think this burn on the toast was telling you?" Jasper asked slowly, a confused look still on his face. She was acting strangely, weirdly interested. The fact that she was pretty made it all the more confusing. Save for two other girls that he found to be pretty, who were also his friends, girls like Dominique just didn't pay him attention. They tended to overlook him.

Dominique was glad he seemed to agree on her theory because, honestly, she was just rambling. She did believe people could see signs in something other than a crystal ball or tea leaves, but right now she was so mesmerised by Jasper she wasn't sure of what she was saying. All she could think about was him.

She giggled at his confused look, her cheeks turning lightly pink. Being so close to him mad eher blush. "That I would find love during breakfast. Probably on the Gryffindor table since I didn't see any other sign that could tell me to look somewhere else."

It was all very strange. He wasn't quite sure what to do, or say. Giggling girls made him nervous, especially when he didn't understand why they were doing so. The blush on Dominique's cheeks fascinated him slightly. He didn't understand it at all. What would she have to blush over around him? It seemed to Jasper that he was missing something, but he just wasn't sure what.

He couldn't help as his eyebrows rose in response to her words. He was utterly confused. "Love at breakfast? Today?" He glanced around the table as he spoke, missing the true meaning behind Dominque's words completely. His eyes settled on her again, bewildered. "And how would you know who it was you're supposed to find?"
