When there was a rainless day in Scotland, you had to enjoy it. And that was exactly what Gwen was doing. She sat down cross-legged under the shadow of a tree with a bunch of magazines on her lap and her bag with homework next to her. She wasn't planning on doing her homework there, but if she got bored of magazines, she could use the free time to try and do something. Less homework for later.

She picked the first magazine her mother had sent her and started flipping through the pages, trying to see if any costume would catch her attention. She was looking forward to the ball, even if she didn't have a date yet; but it's not like having the date was the most important thing of the ball, despite what some girls thought. As long as she had fun and spent some time with her friends, Gwen had no problem going alone. And she guessed that would be a huge relieve for her overprotective brother.
