Tristan was in no rush to meet Mandy there. He was a little nervous, which Tristan never was. He was always so calm and cool, but right now he was losing his cool. He never thought that would even happen. Mandy wasn't just some girl to him, no, he actually liked her. She wasn't just some arm candy like his others were. He slowly walked down the path to the black lake, it was his favorite place to be. Especially when he wants to think. He had been here time and time again the past few days, thinking whether he should ask Mandy to the ball.

Leaning against a tree right by the water, he saw the giant squids tentacle. "It's just me, buddy." He said, smiling. He waited for Mandy, and he would stay all night if he had too, he had to ask her. Tristan had too.

"Sorry," Mandy said at mentioning of NEWTs. Obviously this just wasn't the time to be talking about NEWTs, especially when it was just the two of them and he'd asked her something so important! Who needed to think about NEWTs, when someone like Tristan asked them to the ball?!

Mandy decided then that she adored his smile, especially when it was after her saying yes to being his ball date. It made her feel happy, and especially excited that someone like that would want to ask her!

"Really?" she asked when he'd said that he liked her again. The blush just wouldn't leave her face, and Mandy moved her hands over her warm cheeks. "I... I didn't know!" Why would Tristan like someone like her?
