The day was hotter than any he could remember. Phoenix sat outide Florian Fortescue's that ne summer afternoon under the shade of a red and white umbrella. In front of him sat a cold beverage of peppermint shake, a napkin beside it. By his feet were packages- the fruits of a day's worth of purchasing supplies from the stores that lined the street of Diagon Alley for his upcoming school year. The remaining days of his summer promised to be busy because of his brother's wedding, and being the responsible lad he was, he had figured he should do his shopping earlier.
Phoenix was naturally alone, having not been used to do chores with the burden of a companion. His stance remained casual, his posture pristine as he leaned forward and took a generous sip of his drink, a relief from the blazing heat. Despite the heat, he looked pristine as ever, wearing a long sleeved shirt, a thin jumper, and trousers. He looked quite different, too, with his hair newly trimmed to a much shorter style for the wedding, the dark shade of his roots compared to his siblings seemingly much pronounced now. He looked more mature, the lines of his face more defined.
Leaning back against his chair, he looked up and watched the white clouds that adorned the cyan skies...
