Well, this was different.

Eragon was growing used to things being strange around him. One could almost say he was settling in if it weren't for his fears about the war back home. Juniper's warnings about the state of things in Alagaesia made him ache to get back there and finish it once and for all. And instead, he was stuck in a land where one day it was snowing and the next it was raining and the next it was sunny. Which spoke nothing for the fact that there seemed to be a carnival that morphed into a children's game which became...well, he wasn't entirely sure what this place was supposed to be.

He couldn't deny it looked fun, though. If only he knew what it meant. There was certainly nothing like it back home. Placing a hand on Saphira's shoulder, he looked up at her sheepishly. Just something else we don't know, he told her, sighing. Just once I wish this place resembled home.

The great blue dragon lowered her head to touch his shoulder with her nose. I know, Little One, she reassured. Think of this as a new adventure. Just something else on our journey.

Though he rolled his eyes, Eragon was grateful. As true as that is, I'd rather be on our original adventure.

They were waiting outside the dorms, enjoying the stares they occasionally received. It seemed as many different places as people were from, they were still a unique sight for many. Well, Eragon wasn't. Other than his high cheekbones and slightly tipped ears, he resembled most anyone else. But it appeared not many worlds had a dragon wandering around. Which is why the man from the journals was so excited. And Eragon was proud of the creature at his side. Not only for her accomplishments or for even just being a dragon, but because of the incredibly intense bond they shared. So he certainly didn't mind people admiring her, and she was willing to meet the man with the ships that traveled in space.

A rumbling noise erupted from the depths of Saphira's belly as the great creature gave a deep laugh. He's a bit like a child on a holiday, isn't he? she remarked, and Eragon smiled. Be polite, you know you're not a normal sight for people even back home, but especially here.

Saphira sighed, but gave a step forward and lowered her head to the ground in front of the man. He seemed kind enough, and he had a friendly air to him. Besides, one thing that appealed to Saphira was flattery, and this stranger had plenty of that. I'm thinking shiny is a compliment, she told Eragon. Like my coloring, perhaps?

"She'd like to know what, exactly, that means," Eragon supplied out loud, resting a hand on Saphira's shoulder. "Do you mean as in her scales? Are there many of these shiny objects where you come from?" It wasn't an impertinent question, really, Eragon was naturally curious and he knew Saphira was, too.
