Who: James Tiberius Kirk and OTA
What: Kirk's arrival
Where: City of Illusions
When: Day 12, Early evening
Rating/Warning: PG-13? It depends really

James Kirk smiled brightly as he stepped onto the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. This was it. He'd finally made it. The past three years had all been in preparation for this one precious moment. He was finally the Captain of his very own ship. What took a normal cadet eight years Kirk had managed to do in three. When he'd told Pike he do it in three years Kirk hadn't actually expected to actually be the Captain of his own ship in three years. This was all just... too surreal even for him. Sure, he lived in a world where what had once been considered impossible was now possible and he, himself, had come in contact with future versions of people he was supposed to become good friends with but this was still a little too much.

Practically beaming he spotted his best friend stanind upon the bridge and stepped forward to clap his hand upon the older man's shoulder. "Bones!" he called in greeting... just as he stepped forward and into a rather large hole which had opened up in the floor in front of him. He let out a soft gasp of surprise as he fell and landed on a hard surface beneath him. Kirk had kept his eyes shut for most of the fall but now that he, once again, felt a hard surface beneath his feet he opened his eyes and looked around. Was everything here really made of chocolate? "The hell?" he murmured as he turned to look at the chocolate buildings around him.

"Okay... I'm not injured enough to be hallucinating." He scoffed as he looked himself over. He was still covered in bruises from his fights with Spock and the Romulans. His chest was a roadmap of bruises from when he'd jumped from one platform to another and missed. The bruises on his neck in the shape of Spock's and Nero's and Nero's first mate's fingers were begining to show. Staring down at the game board beneath him. "Bones?" he called again, hoping his best friend would suddenly appear. Damn it! He was Captain now! They couldn't just beam him wherever the hell they felt like anymore.

She grinned at him. "Slayer, remember? Gotta be as strong as the vamps, or else, well, dead Slayer." Of course, even that strength didn't help most Slayers, and most were dead before they were 18. But she'd been one of the exceptions, along with Buffy. "Yeah, dude. You look like you were in, like, a WWE match or some shit. Taking up pro wrestling on the side?" She shook her head. "That's the problem with the world, you know? No one's got any fucking imagination." Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "There's gotta be something better than Jim. Do you have a middle name?" Maybe that would give her some idea as to a nickname.

As they walked together, the small brunette girl looked over at him and grinned. "Mmm hmm. I don't really get it, though, cause he's old and bald, but I think it's all about the accent. I always thought that guy, uh, Kirk was hot, too, but not cause of his accent. He's just got that bad boy thing going." She arched an eyebrow at him. "Don't get many guys secure enough to say something like that about another dude, though. Good on ya. Are you gay?" The idea of a question being too personal to ask was a foreign concept to her. She didn't think he was gay, not with the way he'd checked her out, but hey, you could never tell. Maybe he was getting fashion tips or something.

"Hah. You might be surprised." She gave him an amused look. "Iowa? Holy Bible Belt, Batman." She tilted her head to the side and glanced at him as they walked. "You got that corn-fed farmboy thing going on. Hot." The date just made her nod. She didn't seem upset by it at all. It made sense, given the fact that she'd already decided he was from Star Trek. "Okay, look. I should tell you something, and you might not believe me, but just give me a chance to explain, we cool?"

Right outside the doors leading into the building, she turned to face him, putting a hand on his upper arm to stop him so that he would turn to look at her.

"Yeah, yeah... sure. You keep hitting like that and I'm going to start believing you're a quarter Vulcan." He teased, momentarily ignoring the fact that she may not know what the hell he was talking about. It was easy to forget that this young woman was from an entirely different century than he was. In her time mankind had lived with the foolish belief that they were alone in the galaxy. The Vulcans had yet to make first contact and the two races had yet to start the Federation. Kirk laughed softly and shook his head. "I wish it was something that cool. Nah, I had a run in with two Romulans who hated my guts and a half-Vulcan who... well I had to emotionally compromise him. Couldn't get him to go along with my plan on his own accord." If Spock had listened to him instead of being so unyielding on all of this it would've saved them some trouble. "Oh and my middle name is Tiberius. Good luck with the nicknames."

Pausing midstep as he heard his name he turned towards her curiously. What did she know about him? "Accents are usually attractive... the right kind of accent anyway." He wasn't about to tell her his full name again. She said the nicest things about him and maybe he did have a bit of a bad boy thing going but... that was never intentional. He was just rebellious. It was his nature... like how it was Spock's nature to be a stick in the mud and Bones' nature to be a grumpy worry wart. "No... not entirely. I like women but I like men too. I appreciate attractiveness in all of it's forms regardless of age or gender or alien species." There really were some damn attractive aliens in the galaxy... like the Orion women or the Bajorans who were cute. The question about his sexuality did little to phase Kirk though. He'd always been completely comfortable in his skin and he was unashamed of his track record with men and women.

"Try me." He grinned as he placed his hands on his hips. It was a little odd that she didn't flinch or anything at the date he'd given her. Maybe she was used to these things by now. She was here giving him a tour of the place and leading him to the building where he'd get a journal and a room. "And... yeah, even during my time I guess it hasn't changed much. It's a lot emptier than it used to be. Nothing but farm land and small houses through the entire state... with the exception of the riverside shipyard where they build the starships and that bar the cadets all hang out in." He wasn't sure who Batman was so he ignored that part.

Feeling her hand on his arm he turned to look at her curiously. "All right, what is it you need to tell me? We're cool... so just go ahead."

Faith, of course, knew what a Vulcan was. Even people who didn't watch Star Trek could barely avoid knowing that much. So she grinned at him, and gave a little shrug, then pulled her hair back to show off her ears, perfectly round and normal. "No way, man, human, completely. I've never even met a Vulcan. I'm from before they made contact or whatever." She arched an eyebrow. "You got Spock to be all... holy shit, man, you got a death wish? I saw this one..." She was about to explain about the episode she'd seen of TOS, but then realized that would be a bad idea when she hadn't even told him about the whole fictional character thing yet. So she shut up, and looked at him thoughtfully. That expression only deepened when he told her his middle name.

Suddenly, her already large eyes widened, and she shook her head. At first, she couldn't believe it. This was not Shatner, he was way cuter, for one thing. But she had to give it a shot. "James Tiberius... Kirk?" It was said in a tone unlike her normal brash voice, more tentative. But how common a middle name was Tiberius? She eyed him thoughtfully, and then started walking again. "Enterprise. First officer Spock. Some hottie named Uhura. Oh, and that doctor guy everyone called Bones." She wasn't entirely sure of herself, though, and eyed the young man for a moment before continuing on.

"Picard has this British accent, like something outta Shakespeare or something, you know? Hot." She tilted her head and looked at him, then burst out laughing. "Alien species? Fucked up. I mean, I thought it was bad when Mercy tripped me into bed." It had been her first experience with a woman, and she'd found it to be interesting. "Chicks are pretty good, though. Soft. I dig it. But men, well..." She eyed him up and down quite obviously, and then grinned widely, letting her body language tell the story.

Facing him, she met his eyes, and then bit her lower lip in a sign of uncertainty that was so rare for her. "Look, you're a hottie, but if you're Captain Kirk, I got some weird news for you. You're on this show, Star Trek? Only you don't look like the actor, so... I don't know." All in all, she probably wasn't helping much, but she was a little confused herself.

"Yeah... but you know what they are. It's so weird." Time travel wasn't uncommon (not in his opinion, anyway) so maybe she had met one or heard of one that way. Hell, maybe she'd even met Spock. She was talking about him as if she knew him afterall. "I had to. I didn't want to do it. I'm not crazy enough to try and tango with a Vulcan for no good reason. I know how strong they are. It's all that high gravity bull shit and difference in environment. If we were more evenly matched I could've taken him. It really didn't help that the entire crew just sort of stood there and watched while he was choking me." Bones, at least, could've said something. It wasn't like the doctor to just stand there and allow anyone to choke him. If he had more time to think about it he probably would've been pretty pissed at Bones. As it was, however, Kirk wasn't dwelling on it and he missed his friend a little too much to be angry. There was the possibility that he wouldn't see him again.

Hearing his name, Kirk looked up and smiled a little. Well... that was the end of all those nice things she'd been saying. He couldn't damn well expect her to keep it up while he was standing right there gloating. "Yeah, I guess that would be me." he said softly, smiling just a little sheepishly as he owned up to who he was and it seemed as if she did know who he was. For someone from the last century she really seemed to know a thing or two about him and the Enterprise. "Yeah, that would be us and, really, I'm the only one who calls McCoy by that nickname. Bones has been my best friend for the past three years. We roomed together back in Starfleet. It's amazing that we actually ended up stationed on the same Starship... especially after all the trouble we caused and my near dismissal." Talking about Bones was only making that pang of loneliness that much worst.

"Anyway... this Picard guy? I've never even heard of him but British accents are pretty damn hot." As were a lot of other accents out there. Bones had a pretty damn attractive Southern drawl when he was tired or angry enough. Kirk really enjoyed those moments when his CMO's roots showed a little more than normal. Of course the mention of two women sharing a bed instantly derailed his thoughts of Bones and focused them completely on the woman beside him. "Well... no. A lot of the alien species are humanoid and a majority of them are pretty attractive. Like the Orions? My last partner was a female Orion, Gala. She was quite the attractive thing." Turning towards her he smiled, there was an obvious attraction there... though the uncertainty he saw next caught him off guard.

He really liked her and the compliments she seemed to just hand out at the moment. "Well you're a definite hottie too and..." He trailed off as what she had said finally sunk in. "Star Trek? A show... what do you mean?" There was an actor somewhere in the 21st century playing him? This was all a little too weird.

Faith sighed softly, somehow feeling like she hadn't gotten through. So she took a deep breath and tried again. Although, maybe it would have been nicer to let him keep his innocence, not ruin this for him, but then someone else would probably tell him, anyway. She might as well get it over with, though, really, she had about as much tact as a hammer upside the head. Still, her heart was in the right place, on this one. "Uh, no, I mean, yeah, I know what Vulcans are from TV. They're this race that are all like big with the lack of emotion, but that's all an act or whatever. Secretly, they have all this shit going on deep down that they don't talk about. Fucked up." It obviously wasn't her way of operating, at least not on the surface. Though she did keep her fair share of things to herself, emotionally speaking.

"You're not Kirk, though." She objected. "Kirk is older. And not as sexy." Obviously she wasn't shy, either. "I mean, don't get me wrong, he's a hottie. I'd tap him. But you're hotter." She shrugged a bit. "I dunno, I didn't watch that much, but, yeah, he calls you Jim all the time. I thought other people called McCoy Bones, but what the fuck do I know?" She shrugged, and then realized she was probably only confusing him more. So she stopped, took a deep breath, and tried a third time to make herself understood.

"Okay, so dig it. I'm a vampire slayer, right? When I came here, I found out there's this show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I'm one of the characters in it or whatever." She made a face to show she didn't think much of this. "And everyone else here is the same, from books or movies or whatever shit. I mean, I don't get it, cause you're not Shatner, but you know. You say you're Kirk, and I'm good at telling when people are lying. You aren't."

The dark-haired Slayer looked at him, trying to see if he understood. "So, like, there's this show, right? Total geeky con stuff, Star Trek. You're from it. Just like I'm from this Buffy show."

It would've been confusing for anyone at first... at least Kirk assumed it would be. It was sort of a hard concept to grasp as it was. Normally you didn't run into someone who knew of you and then proceeded to tell you that you existed on some television show in what you believed to be the past. This revelation sort of turned Kirk's world upside down. The only real comfort he drew from it was her referance to the Vulcans. Oh he knew they had emotions. He'd known it since that mind-meld with the older Spock and after he'd emotionally compromised his first officer. It was just nice to know that someone else knew. No matter how much Spock tried t deny it or stood by all stoney faced and cool there was the chance that deep beneath that surface he was as panicked about things as Kirk. "Yeah... Vulcans are kind of big on all that privacy. You'd think it would change after their planet was destroyed and they'd want it to live on." He scoffed a little before rolling his eyes. "Guess no one else in the universe is worthy of being in their secret club."

He had to bite his tongue from arguing that he was, indeed, James Tiberius Kirk and the Captain of the Starship Enterprise. He was pretty sure he knew who he was. Though... he could understand her confusion. There were certain physical differences between him and the James Kirk he'd seen in the elder Spock's memmories. Either way the two of them were similiar enough that Spock had recognized him for who he was. "Oh... yeah that." He said nodding his head before realizing she wouldn't know what the hell he was talking about. "The differences in height and eye color? Yeah, well as near as I can tell we both had a medication screw up. It's my theory that my alternate universe counterpart ended up on a medication that made him unable to reach his full growth height. Bones told me it's possible. As for me... I have this horrible allergy to these eye drops. When I was, like, eleven I had pretty bad vision and my step-father forced them on me despite that allergy. I nearly went blind and it caused a discoloration of my eyes... destroyed a lot of the pigment. So instead of brown, like my brother's, I ended up with blue. I can see pretty well now though." He shrugged. "Bones says that can happen too. And... currently, I'm the only one who calls him Bones. It's nice to know it catches on though. I only just received the position of Captain. The youngest at 25, and all that. The elder Spock told me that my counterpart wasn't Captain until he was 30 and that was considered young." He wasn't being cocky, just stating facts.

He paused to listen as she, once more, tried to explain it. It still wasn't something he wanted to believe but she wasn't lying about it. She knew things no one outside of the Enterprise would know. Unlike his counterpart who seemed to be able to take everything in his stride Kirk's past had left him open for feelings of inadequacy and abandonment issues which lead to periods of angst. Fortunately, Kirk wasn't one to allow any of these issues to show publically. He'd worry about what all of this meant when he was away from Faith and on his own. "Ohhh..." He said, sounding as if it had all finally clicked for him. "I don't think that's completely accurate though. If I'm among the main characters of this show it can't possibly be geeky."

Faith's eyes widened and she gasped. "No way, I didn't see that ep of Star Trek, when was Vulcan des--" And then, she remembered that she was supposed to be acting like she was too cool for geeky shows like Star Trek, and she stopped and cut herself off. "Yeah, right, you know. Big on the repression." She eyed him up and down, and then smirked. "I'm not big on repression, let it you, you know? Feels better that way." Faith very obviously was not the sort of person who even knew was subtle meant. "Secret clubs suck eggs, you know? I was all in the Slayer secret club when we had to be on the down low about it. It was stupid. What's the point of having superpowers if you can't show off?"

Okay, she'd be lying if she said she understood most of what Kirk was saying. But she shrugged, tilting her head to the side. "Oh, no big. Like I say, you're hotter. Sucks about your eyes, though, but I dig the blue. Sexy." She smirked suddenly. "You know, you talk about 'Bones' a whole hell of a lot. Weird. I mean, it's kinda fucked up, you know, cause I always got the sense you were, you know, all into dragging Spock to bed. Can't blame you? Pointy ears are hot. There's this elf here with the whole pointy ears thing going on, and he is so incredibly pretty." She cut off her monologue for a second, and then continued on in a slightly different way.

"Anyway, yeah, so that's the sitch. Kinda trippy, I know. But I know one thing for fucking sure. I'm real, whether I was in some fucked up TV show or not." Maybe some people would be fooled by Kirk's act. Probably most people would. But Faith knew all too well what he was doing, she did it all the time herself. Tentatively, she reached out and touched his arm, trying to express that without actually saying anything. "Hah, well, you know. I wasn't even the main character on my show, B was." That hurt to admit, really. "So, like, you cool? We can, uh, go get your book and key and shit now, if you wanna."

Kirk's cheeks flushed just a little when Faith pointed out just how much he talked about Bones. Okay, yeah, maybe he did talk about the older man a little more than was normal or necessary but Bones was his best friend. When it came down to situations like these Bones was the one and only person Kirk thought he could turn to. Slipping his fingers through his hair he offered the girl a shrug. "Well... yeah, I guess I do talk about him a lot. Spock is pretty hot but he's got this girl and I always figured it was serious between them. Bones and I have been rooming together for three years. In those three years I got to see a lot of him and everything, you know. And, I can tell you this because as far as I know he isn't here, I think he's pretty damn hot. And he's a doctor, you know? And there's something sexy about a doctor." Not only that but Bones was built well so he really was physically attractive. "It's sort of a deeper level of attraction, you know? It's not just the physical attraction and the doctor thing. He is pretty damn hot though. You should see him."

Dropping his hands to his pockets he felt around to see if he had one of the various hologram discs he had of them. He could show her what the older man looked like as long as he remembered to slip those damn things in his pocket. "Damn... I was hoping I had a hologram disc in my pocket so I could show him off. I'm not finding one and I'm not going to keep digging." He knew he had one in there somewhere. He remembered slipping it into his pocket. He had a lot of junk in there though. "Maybe if he ever shows up I can show him off then. You might like him."

Turning from her he moved to head into the building so he could get the key and book she was talking about. He chose not to really say much about that real or not deal. He didn't want to think about it right now. There would be time to go over it all later. Turning towards the girl he gave her a half smile. "Really? You weren't the main character? How the hell did that show every go anywhere without you in the lead?" He laughed. She was life him. How could anyone want to watch a show without someone as bright and charismatic and so damn attractive? "I'll be cool though. This is just one of those temporary things that need to be thought over and stuff but... I'll be fine. Let's go get that book and key and whatever the hell else."

Faith just grinned at Kirk's words, and gave a shrug. "Hey, he sounds like a serious honey, but I kinda think you'd kick my ass if I seriously looked." She was definitely amused. It seemed to her like this young man had a serious crush on his best friend, and as far as she was concerned, that was pretty cute. Not that she wouldn't tease him about it, because she would. It was just how she was. "The doctor vibe is hot, though. I was in the hospital once, and one of those interns, my fucking god." She dramatically fanned herself, then laughed once more.

"Anyway, JT, let's boogie." She'd decided on JT, for James Tiberius. Normal nicknames were boring. She led him into the building, then pointed to the goblin manning the front desk. "That dude there, the short one with the face that looks like it got hit repeatedly with the ugly stick, that's him. He'll give you a book and a room key." She leaned casually against the wall, looking at him.

"I know, total bullshit, right? B was boring, big on the repression thing. The girl needed to find the fun." She shrugged, though, having had time to at least start to accept that she hadn't been the main character in the story she'd been in. "Okay, go get the key, I'll wait here, and then I can take you to your room or give you the fucking grand tour or whatever the hell you want." Giving him a big smile, she just waited for him to go get the key and book, as she'd 'suggested'.

His hands went to his pocket once more and this time he found exactly what he was looking for. Pulling the small device out of his pocket he pressed a button and held it out to her in the palm of his hand. "That's Bones." he said, smiling fondly at the shimmering, barely there but still visible image that appeared. "In case you're wondering, yes we still have cameras and paper pictures. This is just a little more fun. You get a 3-D hologram and it's like having a miniature see through version of them right in the palm of your hand. It's pricey though. I spent a lot of credits on this and then he bitched the entire time asking me what I wanted with an image of just him. He never knew... and now he never will." Unless this King was feeling generous.

Flipping the device off he slipped it back into his pocket before following her into the building. He decided that he liked the nickname 'JT' as opposed to anything else he'd been called. He followed her gaze to the small creatures and frowned. "Ugh... okay you're sure this is some other dimension and not just some kind of primitive prison planet because there are some freaky aliens in the galaxy." He had to trust her judgement though. If this was some planet he would've heard about it from Starfleet or, at least, have been warned about it. Moving towards the short little ugly guy he gave his name and was handed a book and a room key as well as a room assignment.

Heading back towards Faith as he looked over the book he grinned. It wasn't anything like the PADDs he was used to back home. The entire paper thing had died years ago. "This is the best thing ever, seriously. I've never had a paper book. Not even when I was little. Okay, so, show me the room or give me the grand tour or whatever the hell else there is to do in this place."

The dark-haired girl arched an eyebrow, but leaned in to peer at the miniature image. A smile touched her lips, and she nodded. "Okay, I gotta give it to you, he's a hottie. You gonna fuck him? You should. He has a sexy mouth." She frowned slightly. "He looks like that dude from those Lord of the Rings movies, the horse dude, you know?" Although, of course, there was no way that the man from the future could know anything about the Lord of the Rings movies, much less someone like Eomer. "Maybe he'll show, you know?"

She watched as he accepted his book and key, and then stole a glance at the key. "Okay, so you're in A building. Cool." She had been around long enough to know her way around, so she set out confidently in the direction that she know the building was in.

"You're never had a paper book? Fucked up." She glanced at him, grinned, and shook her head. He seriously was adorable, there was no doubt about that. Getting so excited over a journal. It sort of reminded her of her weaker moments when she got seriously excited about something, like when the mayor had gotten her a PlayStation. "So, like... what's it like, you know, in the future? Do people still get colds? What about sex? You ever screw an alien? What was it like?"

"Of course I've never had a paper book. Everything was done on PADDs. Little computerized clip board looking thingies. They were awesome." She might have liked them. He didn't have any of those damn PADDs though. They were a little clunky to carry around and Kirk hadn't exactly had a chance to grab his stuff before he'd been pulled into this place. "Before I go into all that other stuff you just asked... yes, if Bones is into dudes I plan on seducing him as soon as possible and getting him into bed. He's an older dude though. I think their into, like, romance or something, you know? Never really had that. I've never been in a relationship where the other person wants to take care of you and do things for you. It's always been just a quick tumble on the mattress and that's it."

He probably shouldn't have been discussing his sex life so freely with Faith. She was still a stranger no matter how much alike the two of them seemed to be. Kirk didn't seem to understand privacy though. She'd asked and he was more than willing to share. "Okay so the future is all right. We're all technologically advanced and stuff but that all came with a price. There was this huge war which decimated most of what used to be the United States. Mostly just the east coast though, everything going west was in pretty good shape. The Capital was moved to San Francisco and then, after we got rid of the borders and made First Contact and everything it became the base of operations for Starfleet. Outside of San Francisco we have a lot of farmland and shipyards. Outside of the bars and all the hover everythings it can get kind of boring. We still get sick but now we have things like hyposprays which inject medication directly into the bloodstream so we get better faster. We also have dermal regenerators that fix the skin right up, we have one for bones too. Leonard doesn't like either of them so if you break your arm or cut yourself he's just going to patch you up and let your body do all the work. Um... people are allergic to things too but it's rare. My allergies are the worst because I'm allergic to certain foods, plants, and a majority of the medications out there and with the hyposprays the reactions come on faster and stronger than they used to." He shrugged.

"And yes, I have screwed an alien. One of the girls I was sleeping with back in the academy was an Orion. It was amazing... but that could just be the species. Orions are mostly space pirates. The women release this pheremone which terran males can't resist. It has some kind of affect on women too." He shrugged. "Anyway she was amazing, dead now, but amazing. I lived in constant fear of pissing her off though. Orions are pirates and slave traders. I was always worried that I'd wake up and find myself being sold. Some species out there wouldn't care about my dashing good looks... since they'd just be interested in using me for food." Yeah, it was definitely not a good idea to piss off an Orion.

Every word that the young man was saying pretty much rang true for Faith. She knew very well what he was saying about never being into romance, and it all being just about the quick tumble into bed, or, well, bed wasn't even really required. She gave him a bit of a thoughtful look for a moment, and then shrugged. "You don't even know if he's into guys? Shit." She whistled softly. "You should ask." Which was, of course, exactly what she would do if she was interested in someone but not sure of thier sexuality. The concept of privacy, and that people might not wish to talk about that sort of thing, never occured to her.

The dark-haired slayer listened intently as he discribed everything, and shook her head at the end. "Trippy." She gave him a once over. "Weird, though. You don't look like the kind of person who's allergic to everything. Do you have asthma too?" Her tone, though, wasn't really unkind, just slightly amused. "So you dig this doctor guy really because he keeps you from dying." She tilted her head to the side. "Personally, I'm a loser magnet. All the guys I dated, not worth the air they breathe. Decided I wasn't made to be, you know, in a relationship. They suck, anyway." It was all said very casually, like something she'd said many times before.

"Weird." She listened intently to all the little details, and then shook her head, slightly envious. "I've never screwed anything that wasn't human... once a telepath, but he's still human." She thought more, and then shrugged. "Sounds like she's dangerous. Fun." She liked danger. "Okay, so here's your building." She pointed to the building with a large 'A' written on it. "Your room should be just inside."

He chuckled softly as they walked into his building. "Well... I don't know what to say. In your time before the Vulcans made First Contact there weren't too many non-humans running around." None that he knew of. She'd said something about Vampires so he assumed things like Vampires were running around. They weren't exactly human but they'd been human at one point. There was probably some sort of difference between them and humanoid aliens. "Gala would always tell me that she was harmless but I knew enough about her and her people to try and stay on her good side." Even though he was sure if she'd survived there would've been hell to pay for his response to her confession of love.

Walking into the building he looked around and quickly found his room number. That was easy. It probably helped that his was the first room they came upon. Antique locks were a little tricky for him so, much to his embarassment, Kirk stood in front of his door fumbling with the key for a moment before finally getting it open. He turned back towards Faith and offered her a sheepish smile. "Um... where I'm from everything is electronic. You key in the number and the door opens... or you pull off the face plate and reroute a couple of wires."

Opening the door he stepped inside and looked around. It seemed cozy enough... for now. It wasn't the ideal room or where he wanted to be. It had nothing on his quarters on the ship but it would do. Setting the book and the picture of Bones down upon the table he let out a soft yawn. Maybe he wouldn't explore this place any further. He was a little tired. It had been an odd experience. "Is there anything else I need to know?"

"Yeah, it's cool. There's enough hottie people of the human type to screw. I can deal without aliens." She gave him another appraising look, and then laughed. "Hey, man, it's always the ones who say they're harmless that you gotta keep your eye on, know what I'm saying?" As far as she could tell, there was no such thing as someone who was harmless. The more innocent they seemed, the more you had to watch out for them.

She waited with a sort of amused half smile on her face as he fumbled with the lock. She was about to offer to help, just to take him out of his obvious misery, when the door clicked open. "Yeah, those lock things, really tricky." She peered into his room over his shoulder. It looked the same as hers. Boring. "I guess Jareth's, you know, living in the past. Stupid Mr Sparkly King. I want a electronic door."

The dark haired girl leaned casually against the doorframe, watching him as he put his things down. "Can't think of anything offhand. Tell you what, if you have any questions, just drop me a line in the journals, okay? Or you can just come find me, the goblins are stalkers and know where we are whenever." She smiled slightly at him. "Okay, I'm gonna jet now. Later, JT."
