WHAT: Whiny!elf is whiny. Also angsty!
WHEN: Day Twelve, morning
WHERE: Their house in the Goblin City
WARNINGS: It's Giselle and Legolas. PG. At absolute most.
STATUS: Complete

In many ways, Legolas was a simple creature. Things were one way, and he was happy with that. Things that made his life more complicated were not particularly welcome. To say Pandora had done so would be a definite understatement. He'd spent a lot of time in both Rivendell and Lothlorien, reading, and he'd certainly come across vampires. Creatures of pure evil, those who serve Morgoth, foul, tainted beings. Leeches who fed on the blood of the living to prolong their unnatural lives, they were an abomination, and must be destroyed.

Pandora hadn't seemed like that, somehow. Which made it worse, really. At times, she'd seemed almost sad. That shouldn't have been. Still, he'd been tainted by her touch, and he'd been unable to fight her off. For a warrior like he was, this was incredibly disturbing. He liked to think he could take care of himself, but in this case, he hadn't been able to. She'd overwhelmed him completely, and he'd been helpless against it.

So, for the last day, without a break, he'd been practicing his archery. If he ever saw her again, he would be ready. She wouldn't even get close to him. Every time he started to think he could leave his practice, he got a new surge of energy and purpose from the promise he'd made to himself. That would never happen to him again. He sent arrow after arrow into the bulls eye of the target, his face wearing a grim expression that was rarely seen. Usually, no matter the situation, he was smiling, but not now.

He didn't get tired, not in the same way a human would. But he hadn't allowed himself to fall into the dream like reverie that elves had instead of sleep, not since Pandora had bitten him. His arms were shaking, the muscles weary, but he gritted his teeth and forced them to be steady. The next arrow, though, for the first time in a long time, not only didn't hit the bulls eye, it didn't even hit the target at all. The string of curses he let out were both elven, and incredibly colorful.

She understood that his manhood and warrior's skill had been called into question during this horrid woman's attack. He had been unable to drive her away before, although she did not know all the details, and he was running himself ragged trying to be prepared for her should she come again. Giselle hoped that he would never have to experience the vampire's bite ever again. Especially if this is what it did to him.

She nodded, feeling sorry for him. It broke her heart to see him like this. He was usually so strong. She bit down on her lower lip. Tears brimmed in her eyes but did not fall. She laughed softly, a little shocked that he thought she would leave. "Yes, Legolas, I am here. I won't leave you now. It wasn't your fault that she attacked you, why should I shun you?" He could no more change the fact that the vampire had attacked him than he could change how tall he was and she couldn't find any reason to shun him for that.

She held him tenderly, as she would a child or an animal, crooning softly to him until his quaking ceased and his breathing calmed. He spoke again and Giselle was horrified to hear that the vampire had gone into his head. How was is possible that a creature could not only violate someone's body but also their mind? Giselle could not fathom such a creature and it only made her sympathy for Legolas grow.

She smiled and drew back though her hands rested on his shoulders. "You are my hero, Legolas, even under attack you thought to keep me safe." She gazed at him, blue eyes sparkling. She touched his face gently with one hand before she went back to her place on the cloak. "I am nothing compared to you or many other princes, but if I were capable, I would gladly harm this vampire woman for you."
