More people needed to get through the Labyrinth. Seriously. It was getting really old being alone over there, castle or not. So, despite the luxury she'd experienced on the other side of the Labyrinth, she tended to spend most of her time over in the City of Illusions side of things. There were just more people around, and Faith had gotten bored of sitting around doing nothing.

So she found herself wandering around aimlessly through the city. She went on the roller coaster a few more times, but that quickly lost its charm, and she left it behind quickly enough. It just wasn't as much fun as it had been when she'd dragged Snape with her. So she headed into the main building, which she actually hadn't checked out much. Maybe a bite to eat? That sounded good.

As she got close, however, she found herself smelling probably one of the best scents she'd ever smelled in her life. She smiled and followed her nose. Pushing open a door, she found a huge, well-stocked kitchen. "Hey, what's up?" She greeted the room at large, having not seen anyone who had made that delicious smell, but sure that they were there somewhere.

What she did see, however, was pie. Lots and lots of pie. Grinning, she approached the counter where they were all laid out. "Damn, these look fucking awesome!"

Getting her to talk about herself was good for Ned for two reasons. One being that he was, by that point, a detective in all ways that counted. He knew how to ask questions and how to find holes in stories. And doing that meant talking to people.

The other had quite a bit to do with the fact that if she was talking, he wasn't. And Ned really had no urge to talk about himself.

"Not that hard to explain, I wouldn't think," he replied with a shrug. He couldn't help grin as she went for a third slice of pie. Maybe he really could work up some sort of following while he was here. "If it changes a lot and contains random people... Well, then it's not too different from here then, is it?" He chewed on his lower lip, thinking. "Sunny D? Like the beverage?" Orange juice was a bit...bright for his taste. Apple was the more muted variety, and therefore, much more Ned.

The pie slice disappeared, though a bit slower than the previous two. She was certainly getting full. But the pie was pretty much the most delicious she'd ever tasted. Still, she had to figure she was done, for now. Probably. "Damn, that's good. I mean, seriously tastiness going on there."

She hopped down, having way too much energy to sit around on top of the counter. Hey, she was on a pretty major sugar rush at this point. Which was a bad thing, really. When she got this sugared up, usually she wanted to get into a fight.

"Uh, yeah, I guess. But there wasn't a Sparkly King, you know?" She shrugged and then brushed the whole subject off. She wasn't on Mirage anymore, after all, which was fine, really. "Nah, man, Sunny D. Good old Sunnydale, where I'm from, in Cali."

Ned was pleased to see he had a new fan. Who wouldn't want that kind of appreciation? Who was he to argue if someone willingly ate and liked his pies? Sure, money wasn't needed on this planet, but gratitude was always welcome. Even if the sweets were described as 'seriously tastiness'.

Besides. Watching the girl move around and listening to her brash talk? Ned was pretty pleased she enjoyed his pie. He had the feeling he didn't want to be on her bad side.

"California?" he questioned. At least it was a place he'd heard of. And in the United States, no less. Not some foreign country or distant land or outer space. Practically down the street if he thought about it in comparison. "Is it really sunny all the time, there? Are vampires...common, in your area?" Ned had never heard of vampires existing in the real world before this, but maybe in other parts of the world they were known vividly.

Full of sugar, Faith stretched her arms far above her head, unable to stand still. Faith on an obvious sugar high was a scary thing, because even though she was really remarkably tiny, she seemed to radiate dangerous energy at the best of times. It was part of what made her so compelling.

"Yeah, for real. Not the home town, you know, but whatever." She shrugged, and then let her arms fall down to her side once more, apparently sufficiently stretched out.

"Dude, come on. It's Cali. It's sunny." The Slayer tilted her heaed to the side, and then laughed. "Hells yeah. Reason I ended up in the Dale, cause of the Hellmouth. Good place to slay. So shit, tons of vamps to dust. I was so totally there."
