WHO: The Doctor and Rose
WHAT: Exploring the amusement park
WHEN: Day Seven, early evening
WHERE: The amusement park...duh!
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Incomplete

Okay, so an amusement park wasn't exactly the best place to take the girl you fancied, particularly when she didn't know that you fancied her, but it was all the Doctor had to work with. And besides, it was sort of them. At least, it held the possibility of something going wrong, at any rate. Right?

The Doctor bounced around outside the TARDIS, the same as he had countless times before, waiting around for Rose to finish getting dressed. He was in his standard, a pinstripe suit and trainers, but he'd left the tie behind, unbuttoning the first button or two of his button down, going for a more casual look. That, and if he was going to get soaked, he'd might as well.

"Come on, Rose!" he hollered, banging on the door of the TARDIS, rolling his eyes. "There's no alien invasion, no race to be saved, no screaming...At least let me have the amusement park!"

He knew about all that, of course, given that he was not only filled in on some finer, more final points by Donna after she'd been done with her own alternate reality, but well, he was from Rose's future. He knew how it all panned out. How she got the half human version of the Doctor, and he ended up, yet again, alone. But he couldn't think about that. Not here, where none of it seemed to matter as much.

The Doctor was meant to be alone. To not love, to not have a normal life. But here, just maybe...

He looked down at Rose and cupped her chin in his hand, turning her face up to his. "I'm here now. We're together again, and we're all safe. And Rose..." he brought his lips to her ear, just as he'd watched his alter-self do on that damned beach.

"What can I get you?" the gruff goblin voice interrupted him, and the Doctor shot the goblin a look that could have struck him dead where he stood. "Chips."

A goblin kicking contest. They didn't have those in any of the adventure parks back home, but why not start one here? It might not be so bad. Sure, their little squeals might be annoying at first, but she could tune them out. She'd thought sure he might've been about to say something or do something that would change everything and yet... Oh, she was going to shove a whole thing of chips down that little goblin's throat if he wasn't careful.

Instead, she put a smile in place and grinned up at the Doctor, forcing the moisture from her eyes. "Mmm, chips. Remember our first? You took me to see the Earth explode. Now that's a good first date, let me tell you, how many boys can compete with that one?" She took the plate from the goblin, giving him a dirty look as she did so. But her look immediately turned to one of adoration as she smiled up at him. "Though, really, you didn't even bring flowers." Well, there was that tree girl that Rose had been pretty sure he'd fancied. But she was gone, sacrificing herself to stop Cassandra. Like so many people they'd lost. It made her keep one arm tucked around him, squeezing gently.

The Doctor was right in line with Rose's thinking. Death to the goblins. Immediately, if not sooner. How many times now had he been interrupted when trying to confess to Rose how he felt about her? Far too bloody many, as far as he was concerned.

But, he'd, hopefully, have another chance, and so smiled down at Rose as she recounted what they both fondly referred to as their 'first date'. "What can I say? I know how to show a woman a good time," he grinned cheekily, for a moment, reminding anyone that knew him of Jack, and then lead Rose over to a bit of grass somewhat away from the ruckus. He took off his trench coat and spread it out in the grass, just like he'd done on New Earth, now that he thought about it, and then sat down, taking the chips from her so that she could do the same.

"Flowers, huh?" he mused, sticking a chip in his mouth and then shoving his hands in his suit jacket pockets, riffling around in the space that never seemed to end, and always held the most random things you could think of. Time Lord technology, after all. Then he pulled out a single red rose and grinned, twirling it around in front of her face. "A rose for a Rose."
