Day 7
Who: Cathal and OTA
What: Exploring the New Attractions
When: Late Morning
Where: Concessions/General Amusement Park Area
Rating: TBA
Status: Complete

Not only was it really strange to have been in this weird new land for a week, but when he woke up that morning and looked out his window, he saw something even stranger. There were machines of all kinds set up around the city. They rose high into the sky and circled, dipped and weaved in between other machines and attractions. He was pretty sure he didn't want to go find out what they were or why they had suddenly been put there, but he also knew that as a warrior he couldn't rightly allow himself to become lax in his knowledge of the place.

He finally mustered up the strength to face whatever was out there about mid morning. That and his stomach had started to protest its neglect. He pulled on his cloak and boots then left his room. He avoided looking at anyone. He didn't want to start a meaningless conversation or worse yet, get to know someone. He stopped outside the dorm and looked up. The machines were enormous. He'd never seen anything like them and while that didn't totally unnerve him, it did mean he'd have to ask someone what they were. Maybe one of those goblins.

But first, his stomach. It needed appeasing. He walked by a few of the concession stands, noting strange foods on display. Or, what he supposed was food. It smelled like food. Just not like any food he'd ever had before. Finally, he stepped up to one and looked the offerings over. He scanned the list of available foods behind the faceless vendor and looked down, trying to figure out which was which. Nachos, cotton candy, funnel cakes, corn dogs, fried twinkies, caramel apples, chili fries, and all manner of other things. He recognized the fries for what they were; fried potatoes. The other things didn't looks all that appetizing.

He was still trying to decide what to order when he heard someone's feet shuffling behind him.

The bright-haired witch knew that her family, on the Black side, at least, would be completely and totally horrified by the way this man's face was covered in tatoos. She, however, was fascinated, and the way she looked at him was just this side of what could be considered a rudely direct appraisal. Idly, she imagined some of the same marks on her own skin, and her skin, of course, responded.

For a moment, she had the same markings on her skin that he had on his. Oh, it wasn't exact. Tonks would have to spend hours just staring at Cathal to get all the details down. But it was as close as she could get with as little study as she'd had, and she grinned to herself before letting them fade back away. Really, very fascinating. Though she did wonder how he dealt with having these markings be permanent. Of course, she wondered that about other people's hair, too.

"Wotcher, Cathal?" Her greeting was just as cheerful as ever, as if she hadn't just done her best to replicate his tatoos on her own skin, like she didn't notice him staring at her hair. Of course she did, but most people stared at her hair. She prefered it that way, or she would have gone with a nice normal blonde or brunette. No one changed their hair to be bright pink without wanting attention.

Once the food was set down, Tonks collected hers and then glanced around. "There's a place over there!" She assumed Cathal was going to join them. After all, they were talking. That made them at least friendly, as far as Tonks was concerned. And she knew Marcus to be a social type of person, as well, so she doubted he would mind.
