Day 7
Who: Cathal and OTA
What: Exploring the New Attractions
When: Late Morning
Where: Concessions/General Amusement Park Area
Rating: TBA
Status: Complete

Not only was it really strange to have been in this weird new land for a week, but when he woke up that morning and looked out his window, he saw something even stranger. There were machines of all kinds set up around the city. They rose high into the sky and circled, dipped and weaved in between other machines and attractions. He was pretty sure he didn't want to go find out what they were or why they had suddenly been put there, but he also knew that as a warrior he couldn't rightly allow himself to become lax in his knowledge of the place.

He finally mustered up the strength to face whatever was out there about mid morning. That and his stomach had started to protest its neglect. He pulled on his cloak and boots then left his room. He avoided looking at anyone. He didn't want to start a meaningless conversation or worse yet, get to know someone. He stopped outside the dorm and looked up. The machines were enormous. He'd never seen anything like them and while that didn't totally unnerve him, it did mean he'd have to ask someone what they were. Maybe one of those goblins.

But first, his stomach. It needed appeasing. He walked by a few of the concession stands, noting strange foods on display. Or, what he supposed was food. It smelled like food. Just not like any food he'd ever had before. Finally, he stepped up to one and looked the offerings over. He scanned the list of available foods behind the faceless vendor and looked down, trying to figure out which was which. Nachos, cotton candy, funnel cakes, corn dogs, fried twinkies, caramel apples, chili fries, and all manner of other things. He recognized the fries for what they were; fried potatoes. The other things didn't looks all that appetizing.

He was still trying to decide what to order when he heard someone's feet shuffling behind him.

Cathal's hood was currently hanging down his back, so the tattoos on his face were clearly visible. They were inked into the skin of his face along with that of his scalp and neck. Anyone who looked at him head on or from the side could see that the tattoos were meant to imply the face of a fox. He knew that he was strange looking to some people. At Sevenwaters where everyone had been familiar with Johnny's band of warriors and on their island Inis Eala, no one even looked twice at him. But he had gained more than one or two strange glances since arriving here.

Still, his appearance seemed like nothing in comparison to the brightly colored hair of the witch who was currently ordering her food. The closest color he had to compare it to was Clodagh's hair, a rich coppery red. But it was nothing like this. Truth be told, Cathal had been more comfortable in the Renaissance theme than this new brightly colored machine oriented one. It put him out of his comfort zone and he got a little moody when that happened.

He finally remembered that she'd introduced herself. At least, he thought she had. He'd never heard the name Tonks before and found that it was just one more strange thing about the woman. "I'm Cathal." He didn't try to shake hands and she hadn't offered. He had no idea what a "muggle park thing" was, but as she gestured to the area surrounding them he assumed that she was talking about the current state of the city. "No, they don't have these where I'm from."

Both of them had ordered and the common item seemed to be a caramel apple. He figured if the both of them were going to be alright eating them he probably would, too. "I'll have the coated apple and one of those cakes." He pointed to the funnel cake with the strawberry and whipping cream topping. Although Marcus' appearance was much less interesting than the woman's, Cathal felt immediately more at ease in his presence. He didn't seem quite as foreign, even though his clothing too was unfamiliar.

When their food items were ready, they were stacked on the counter by the faceless workers. Cathal retrieved his apple and funnel cake and looked around for a place to sit and eat.
