WHO: Juniper and Edward
WHEN: Day six, early evening
WHAT: More fighting, probably, since they weren't done
WHERE: The woods
RATING: R-ish
STATUS: Complete

Juniper was pissed. In almost every sense of the word. She was angry, no livid at Edward, both for feeling that he had the right to be angry with her for an errant thought, and for the fact that she now sported ten finger-shaped bruises on each arm. She was angry with herself for even having the thought to begin with, because really, it was ridiculous at best, suicidal at worst. And she was drunk. Drunkity-drunk-drunk. The one good thing about the Ren Faire, Juniper had discovered, once she realised that she was locked out of her room, not having remembered to grab her key as she'd stormed out, was that they had some truly wonderful wine. And she'd sampled more than her fair share of it.

And so now, drunk and wet in the dark, and locked out of her room, Juniper was wandering. She wasn't really looking for Edward, but when she heard his mind nearby, her anger redoubled. He was such a twat. She didn't want to see him, but at the same time, she wasn't really done yelling at him yet. Maybe she'd get eaten by a bear or something on her way over there.

No such luck. Standing at the base of the tree Edward was hiding in, Juniper glared up at the dark, unable to see her boyfriend, but knowing he was there anyway. "You're an asshole!" she hollered at him, and then took another swig off the bottle she carried. "If you don't want me, just fucking say it, because I'm not stupid enough to think that this is just about a bloody thought!"

Her correction made him smile. He hated to admit it, but she was right. He supposed all men in love felt this way whether it was for the first time or the fiftieth. He knew for a fact that even his brothers and Carlisle felt that way on occassion in relation to their respective wives. Emmett was typically better at faking it most of the time, but it happened and the bonds of brotherhood prevented either Edward or Jasper from spilling his secret.

"You inspired that one." Edward let the song melt into a new tune, this one more contemporary and one of Edward's favorites. He let his fingers play over the keys with familiarity and then changed from that into something upbeat and jazzy. He smiled at her playfully. "Didn't you say that you played?" He batted his eyes innocently.

Juniper turned into a pile of goo at his admission. "You...are the most wonderful man in the universe," she sighed, cupping his face with her hand and kissing him soundly. How annoying, his fingers didn't skip a note. He was too good at everything.

She bopped a little at the change in tune, and then laughed. "Oh that face..." she complained, rolling her eyes. "I play a very little," she admitted, and that was sort of an understatement. "I'm better at singing."

But still, she bumped his hip with her own and then lifted her right hand to the keys before making a face at the brace and broken knuckles and trying with her left hand instead. And given that she was playing the top hand of Heart and Soul it was a miracle she managed to do it at all. "There. The one song I know, and I only know half of it," she laughed, once she was done.

Edward pulled her into his lap, cleared his throat and then took her good hand in his. He laid his fingers over her own and started slowly picking out a simple tune using her fingers to hit the keys. He moved his free hand over the other keys and made it a bit more complex. He smiled down at her and then darted down to press a kiss on her cheek. "Oh, I think you play pretty well," he teased. "Even with one hand."

He let his hands slide from the keys eventually and wrapped them around her waist. "This is nice," he commented wanting her to know how much he enjoyed just having her near him. He pressed another kiss to her cheek and then moved down to lay a number of light and ticklish kisses along her neck.

Settling into his lap, Juniper concentrated on keeping her fingers under his while he lead her in playing. "Oh yeah, I'm a regular Beethoven," she joked, rolling her eyes at him, leaning into the kiss.

Her hands came down from the keys to cover his and Juniper leaned back against his chest, closing her eyes. "Very nice," she breathed, tilting her head to give him better access at her neck and shoulder, giggling softly at his kisses, her skin flushing and her heart rate picking up a little bit. He really was all together too good at everything.

He pulled away slightly and looked at her somewhat suspiciously. "Very nice indeed, but I'm thinking I've forgotten something important. When was the last time you ate something? And I don't mean the wine you went a little crazy with?" He could laugh at the memory now, though at the time she'd had him scared out of his mind. 'Slightly melodramatic' indeed.
