WHO: The Doctor and Tonks
WHEN: Day Five, midmorning
WHAT: Meeting/Canon confetti
WHERE: Near the dorms
RATING: PG
STATUS: Complete

The Doctor was being...well, the Doctor. Very curious, a little stupid, and generally looking completely mad.

Because, well, he was standing outside, in the pouring rain, with his head tipped back and his mouth open wide. It was fairly obvious that he'd been out there a while, as his trench coat and suit were sopping wet, and his once white trainers were the general colour of mud splatters. Like the child at heart he was, he looked like he was having a blast, though he actually was doing something important. The Doctor knew that if he could just figure out what that one hint of a taste was, he could figure out whereabouts in the universe they were, and hopefully, use that to figure out a way to get the hell off this rock.

Seeing something out of the corner of his eye, the Doctor righted his head and looked in that direction, his tongue hanging out and a confused expression on his face. Who in their right mind would be out in this weather?

Well, aside from him, anyway.

Tonks nodded. "It would be brilliant if you could." Upsetting, in a way that she was only just allowing herself to acknowledge, but a good thing. Mostly. Sort of. Maybe. Okay, she was still a little confused about the whole thing, and what she wanted.

One eyebrow arched eloquently as he explained, and by the end, she was laughing to herself again. "I've decided I like you." She announced this with the air of someone conferring a great favor. "You make me laugh." His awkward stumbling about the whole fictional characters topic was interesting, but not much else. As far as she could tell, she was real. That was enough for her. No existential crisis from her.

She rose to her feet too, and wandered to the door. "I think I'm going to brave outside again. I'm starving. Uh..." She looked at the door curiously. "How does it open?"

The Doctor laughed. "Well good. I like being liked. And it goes without saying, Tonks, that I like you," he said with a little nod. That was an understatement. She was wonderful. Not to mention the fact that she seemed to take everything so well. Most people would have been having a fit by now. But no, not Tonks. She was a rock.

Going to the door, the Doctor looked serious. "It's highly complicated," he said with an emphatic nod. Then he hooked his finger in the handle of the door and pulled it open. "The Hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get in - and they've tried, but getting out...easy," he grinned.

Then he pleasantly sent her on her way, waving. "Come see me again!" he called as he watched her disappear into the rain, and then shut the door. "Tonks. Tonks! Hey Rose!!" he hollered, setting off at a dead run.
