As a precaution, Derrick had been advised to continue to use his wheelchair as the doctors were worried that something could happen to reverse his recent use of his legs. It was why he was being flown to the Battlestar Pacifica for additional tests as the medical facilities aboard the warship were more advance.

At a work bench in the electronics shop aboard Shangri-la, Derrick Princeton from his wheelchair worked on re-building a crucial piece of hard-ward from the wireless studio, that would be used for mobile broadcasts. He used his knowledge of electronic engineering to build it, but it had not been perfect. It had malfunctioned.

Dani Kypros was a little uncomfortable coming on board Shangri-La again.

It wasn't that she didn't like the civilian ship, it was very nice change from Avalon but she was feeling particularly self conscious these days, especially around strangers. The last time she'd been aboard to promote the fleet aviation program three months earlier her pregnancy hadn't been noticeable to anyone who didn't know. Now that most definitely wasn't the case as she walked to the talk wireless station for her appearance on Mr. Princeton's show and the young woman was attracting stares from passerby. Not that it surprised her. There had only been sixty pregnancies in the Strike Group since the fall of the Colonies so a pregnant woman in a fleet uniform would be a curiosity.

On her days off, Jilleen often would escape to the triple-domed resort liner Shangri-la and spend her leave with those not directly associated with the military. It was not because she did not enjoy the company of her ship mates, it had always been her thing. Long before the war when she received her commission into the Colonial Forces, she had the financial means beyond her pay rate to live off post and afford an apartment in the more fashionable districts of a city.
