When/Where: June 8 after briefing people in the Observatory; Twelve's TARDIS in the Barracks
Rating/Warnings: medium?; mentions of injuries, TBD
Status: incomplete
Rose knew that she looked a mess. She was still wearing the clothes that she was captured in and hadn't had the time to shower, though she had washed most of the blood out of her hair before heading to the Observatory. While her scrapes and cuts had scabbed over, the bruise on her cheek had darkened to purple and been joined by a red handprint at her throat. If it weren't for how carefully she was moving, one might've guessed that she'd been in nothing more serious than a barfight.
Now she stood stiffly outside of the new/older TARDIS, contemplating her choices.
Her original plan had been to get checked out in the Med Bay, then to wait until the worst of the bruises faded and hugs became less of a painful proposition before seeing any of her well-meaning friends in person. Granted, she couldn't avoid Jack since they practically lived on top of each other at work and in the barracks, but he was the least likely (still likely, but a little less so than the Doctors) of the people that could bundle her unwillingly into a TARDIS during the next spot of trouble.
Of course, all her plans were dashed as soon as the Doctor asked her to the TARDIS. She couldn't say no, not to the one that had chosen her, but she did manage to buy herself a little time to get herself presentable. He had already been worried before her kidnapping and she wasn't going to stress him more with visible evidence of how close he'd come to losing her, so that left her with two options: see a doctor or see the Doctor.
To hell with it. Rose was too exhausted to deal with overprotective Time Lords right now, and there was a perfectly good Med Bay not far off that was blessedly free of them.
She lifted a hand to pat the TARDIS goodbye, but couldn't contain a gasp when the movement jolted her ribs. Bloody super-strong giant aliens. She took a moment to just breathe through the pain, then turned to go.
