Need a Holiday
Who: Gilda, Harvey and OPEN
Where: The Narrows, aka Arkham City
When: Two days after the Arkham breakout
What: Gilda is asked by the GPD to negotiate

Gilda was jumpy, anxious; Jim could see it. And it made him feel guiltier that he was asking this of her. "You don't have to," he told her for the hundredth time. "Gilda, we can find another way." She gave him one of her timid, brave smiles and his heart broke all over again.

"I'm okay," she assured him, clutching her purse in both hands. The Narrows were crawling with more danger than before; hell, she could get mugged and killed before she ever saw any signs of the Arkham escapees. But it was the only chance they had. She started forward, aware of the cop cars at her back, watching her, aware of the click of her heels echoing in near silence, as she at first hesitantly made her way across the bridge. Traffic had been stopped. It was like walking in an empty city. It seemed to take her forever to reach the other side; she looked back once, smiled at the small figure of Jim Gordon on the other side and moved forward into the dark, decaying streets.

"Oh, I know it, Red," Harley grinned. "Great fun. Big fun. The kind of fun where you hit with a hammer over and over until all the good stuff comes out. Sticky confetti like a parade!" She giggled and just brought herself under control. "Much more fun that we coulda had in that stuffy old place back there. Two-Face'll see. We'll show him, right?"

He felt her clamping around him like a hot, wet vice, and he was up like a shot. He shoved her back on the desk, took her thin wrists in his hands and pinned them there. He pounded into her relentlessly until he felt himself so near he roared and ended. He sank atop her, the ruined half of his face against her bare breasts, resting there and satiated.

"Our Holiday's home," he growled with spent pleasure, a grin just touching his lips and tipping them up on one side.

Yeah," Ivy responded dryly, "just don't go around thinking too much about getting hit again and again with a big hammer until sticky stuff shoots out of it." She chuckled darkly. "'Cause I'm afraid that's the one thing I can't do for you that Mr. J could. And, yeah, we'll show him, all right. Me and my Harley-rose. I have me some good ideas for jack-o'-lanterns, too. the face is most important. Mr. J taught you how to carve, didn't he?"

Panting, sweating, Gilda lay back against the hard surface of the desk, keeping herself curled around him, cradling his head between her modest breasts, running her fingers through his hair. "Holiday's happy to be home, babies." She lifted a leg, running it smoothly along him. "And she'll do anything for you."

The expert pressed his ear into the headphone once more and gave Jim a terse shake of his head. Nothing. Good God, Gordon though, he'd just sent an innocent woman off to her death.
