Concrit meme - Take 10!
Attention please~

We're having a concrit meme again! The rules are the same as last time:

Comment to this post with a list of your characters.

Then reply ANONYMOUSLY to the other players, giving concrit on how they're playing/their characterization/their interactions/etc. Or ask them stuff, like why did chara A did this or say that or w/e.

Flame anyone, and I'll kill you in the face. I'm looking for something that can be positive to the game and can help us ALL improve. Not for someone to go 'OMG YOU SUCK' at someone else. Not that I expect that to happen, but I'm just making sure.

You can just praise a character, if you can't find anything wrong with what they do. If you can elaborate on WHY you like that character, it'd be better, but hey, I won't mind if you can't do anything but keyboard smash at someone's awesome.

This is semi-mandatory! If you really, really can't take concrit, then go ahead and don't participate, but I'd rather everyone did.

Sorry if my comment offended (the way your comment comes across it sounded like you were?) That hadn't been my intention at all, and sorry if I came off as criticizing you. Even if it wasn't your intention at all, what I said above is the way that Umi came across to me. But of course, it's your character and you understand her character a lot more than I do.

Now that you've explained it, that all makes more sense. I'm not sure, but I guess it seemed like lately she hadn't been talking to that many people, but like the third anon said, that could just be because Kiseki was quiet for a bit. I'm sorry for misinterpreting, if that's the case. (I still stand by my original point that I'd love to see her interact more, though.)

I think some parts were uncalled for, to tell you the truth. I do appreciate your apology. You're entitled to your opinion as much as I am to my interpretation of the character, of course. I already addressed these issues above, and will take your crit into account. If it helps any, I do believe it's come to a point when she should start to cheer up, going by Kiseki's timeframe.

It's not just the game being quiet but also the truth I haven't felt much inclination to RP, as I've also stated here and in the OOC comm. My other characters have been dropped because of this. But again, I plan to be as active as I can and take what opportunities to interact with the new characters come my way.

Even if you don't agree, I hope you don't disregard what I said simply because you thought I sounded uncalled for or whatever (which I don't think I was, but obviously it's different for people receiving the comment!) I didn't say any of that to come across as rude or to criticize you, but simply because I was concerned that you, as an anon put it nicely, are letting ooc knowledge interfere with your playing of Umi.

I don't know much beyond what you say in the ooc comm, so forgive me for not knowing about your rp troubles as much as others might, but for what it's worth, I think you DO play a wonderful Umi. She's lots of fun and you play her perfectly. Sometimes it seems like you're actually CLAMP writing her, you're so good.

In my first comment, I wasn't saying that the angst was ooc, because losing Hikaru and Fuu IS going to be a blow to her confidence, but I felt like maybe you were playing it up a bit too much, since Umi is a very independent girl. But it seems that Caldina coming back is helping that, which I'm glad, because it's sad to see an MKR girl so sad and without her sisters. I guess that what I'm meaning to say that is at the time of my first comment, I felt like she was disregarding her present canonmates and friends and the angst was a bit over the top, but now that I've seen your take on it (and it's hard to see mun's reasonings in the style of rping Kiseki does) and seen the threads get more fleshed out, I can see where you're coming from. I guess basically it's just something to look out for in the future?

As for interacting outside her canon, I look forward to see her continue to do so. It seems that Kiseki is picking back up in activity, so hopefully she'll have more opportunities to interact with people she already knows and new people she can meet. It'd be great for her to make more friends and continue to deepen the relationships she already has.

*sigh* Look, anon... Just going to point at my reply above so I don't repeat myself again. Crit taken into account, apology accepted, think about wording comments in a different fashion to avoid future misunderstandings, perhaps?

And so that you keep this in mind if you feel like it: Umi has a crit post up which is feeling very lonely and empty at the moment. Have at it for whatever you feel like suggesting.
