Concrit meme - Take 10!
Attention please~

We're having a concrit meme again! The rules are the same as last time:

Comment to this post with a list of your characters.

Then reply ANONYMOUSLY to the other players, giving concrit on how they're playing/their characterization/their interactions/etc. Or ask them stuff, like why did chara A did this or say that or w/e.

Flame anyone, and I'll kill you in the face. I'm looking for something that can be positive to the game and can help us ALL improve. Not for someone to go 'OMG YOU SUCK' at someone else. Not that I expect that to happen, but I'm just making sure.

You can just praise a character, if you can't find anything wrong with what they do. If you can elaborate on WHY you like that character, it'd be better, but hey, I won't mind if you can't do anything but keyboard smash at someone's awesome.

This is semi-mandatory! If you really, really can't take concrit, then go ahead and don't participate, but I'd rather everyone did.

Going to parrot the other anons and say that your Mokona is phenomenal. She's perfect and amazingly fun to thread with. I'm glad you kept her and I'm so glad that you've been keeping her active (I'm astounded by anyone who can keep someone like Mokona active, especially while playing other characters.)

Touya is great, though at times I feel he's a bit too grumpy with his sisters? Knowing what this weird place has done to them, I feel he'd be more worried and protective than he would be teasing (though I'm not saying diminish the teasing all together, because that's what makes Touya so awesome.) He's hilarious, though, and I'm glad you picked him up. His threads with the many versions of Syaoran are great.

As for Kurogane, I know in the past you've been criticized and told he's a bit too generic, but I never got that impression. Rather, I feel that sometimes you play him from a point that's earlier than his canon? You're good at making him calm at times, but there are other times when I think you make him too flaily. What comes to mind is the recent thread with H!Fai. He was calling Kuro all the cutesy names, and Kuro was reacting but I feel that Kuro at this canonpoint would be more like" -___- anybody explained this place to you yet?" and completely ignored the teasing.

Other than that, I think you've really warmed up to his character and he's great! I know it's hard since it's Kurogane, but it'd be great to see him interacting with others more outside his canon!

You've pretty much touched on all the things I was really worried about most with them. I appreciate your kind words about Mokona and everyone else.

I don't think I really intended Touya to come off so grumpy (I think part of this is icon fail haha), but he definitely did, so I'm going to sit back and be a bit more careful about that. I'm definitely still trying to get a handle on the best approach with his character (without implementing TOO much CCS!Touya into him), so this is really, really helpful.

As for Kuro, yeah.. that's something I've been trying to work on. I've kind of caught myself doing that a few times and haven't really completely shaken that. I'm still looking for the appropriate balance between calm!Kuro and not having a personality. The situation with H!Fay was one that worried me a bit. I kind of played the reaction as more a "wtf WHY >_>" with the nicknames rather than ignoring them completely... even though I obviously probably should have? I'll definitely keep working to find that balance. And you know. Tag with him more. I've wanted to, I just am made of fail? IDK.

Yeaaah, I know what it's like to have limited number of icons without a wide range of emotions and expressions. (That's why having the back of the head icon is so helpful, I guess! :);;) As for implementing CCS!Touya-ness, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. They are the same soul, after all. But obviously you won't want to make him a carbon copy of CCS. But it's fine to borrow things from it (since we see older!Touya-ou very much like his CCS counterpart; the younger version wouldn't be much different. The one canon point of CCS!Touya we have as a kid was in reference to him being mean and teasing Sakura about the ghosts that were around everywhere)

So I think in the case of minor characters like these, it's okay to borrow from the original series, so long as you don't start playing the original series instead of Tsubasa. CCS can be really helpful for determining Touya's character, so don't be afraid to use it. :)

And for what it's worth, I adore your Kuro. I think he's wonderful and he's fun to play with. You play the grumpy characters well. Other than the nicknames and the calmer thing, he's great. And his canonpoint is a difficult one to play out, I think, and just something you need to edge yourself into. It's hard to determine exactly how much of him has changed since our only instances after Celes are him... being all "rawr FWR >|" about it. But his determination and sense of justice is still there, despite the flailiness being diminished somewhat (but not completetly, since he does freak out a bit in Nihon and blushes.) so perhaps try focusing on that?

For the record, Fai and I loved the flailness there. But despite that, I kinda have to agree a little. Having Kuro be calm could be fun though. Fai would freak out a little inside because "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO KURO-SAMA?". Then the teasing takes a whole new high as Fai desperately tries to get yelled at and THEN Kuro-sama can explode. Could be fun, no?
