So. About them errands, huh?
((Man. How about all that self-play. It's what I get for playing 90% of the characters, I guess. :p And also currently the only character who can fling himself around the kingdom in seconds, so the job of errand boy has fallen to him. Purah's really got to come up with something for Zelda.))

After contacting Zelda and ending up with a laundry list of things he needed to get, as well as a brief panic when she asked about the sign outside his house, of all things, Link shifted his focus to his new agenda: getting a bunch of girly stuff.

His life went awry somewhere along the line, and he wasn't quite sure where. As much as he missed his sister, part of him was glad his early teen years weren't plagued by a teenage girl potentially trying to cajole him into being her practice dummy for learning how to apply makeup and do fancy hair styles. There was a good chance Marin would've ended up more like their grandmother than their mother on that front, but even so, that was an arrow he'd dodged.

It wasn't even getting dressed up like a woman that would've bothered him- when he was growing up, women were the ones with the power, it wasn't exactly an insult to look like one, and he had to do that later to get into Gerudo Town anyway -it was the idea of being turned into what amounted to a science experiment that would've annoyed him. Being told to sit and stay and be subjected to whatever his handlers wanted to do would've driven him crazy.

That, and he remembered being an adolescent boy, and he knew how adolescent girls acted, and he and his sister probably would've driven each other up the wall and down each other's throats.

... he still missed her, though.

He forcibly shoved that subject aside and focused back on the task at hand, most of which was just taking pictures, but the first thing he had to do was something that he wasn't ... exactly looking forward to. For a myriad of reasons, not the least of which was 'fessing up to having not told the entire truth to Zumi and Yammo earlier about his relationship status with Zelda. Although before he could do that, he had to 'fess up to himself about it. His side of things wasn't anything he'd been... too untruthful about- there was nothing that he'd given any thought to (and fighting his brain to keep it that way was sometimes a challenge) -but he knew damn well what Zelda's side was. Sure, there honestly was the chance that the years had changed her, but he had a feeling in his gut that they hadn't. He'd probably hide behind that possibility for awhile yet, but it was something he was going to have to face at some point.

Sometimes he wished he'd worked harder at not avoiding dealing with emotions after his initial grief over Marin had passed. It'd make things a lot easier on him. His tendency to shut down had helped him save face when the kingdom's spotlight was on him, but now it was just making things messy.

Oh, hey, brain. Nice of you to drift back to that subject. Let's stay on task, hmm?

The women had made pretty good time, all things considered, as Link could see them just on the other side of Proxim Bridge as he approached it. He nodded in greeting to Brigo, who still was holding his position as guard, though what he was guarding and why, Link wasn't sure. Whatever made him happy and gave him purpose, Link supposed.

"Pretty much right and fucking center," Link said wearily. Sigh. "Well, anyway, I do need to go. Got a lot of stops to make. I seem to be currently Court Gopher more than anything else."

After Amali said goodbye, he selected the Eldin Tower and clicked travel.

He wasn't fond of using the towers as a travel point, because no matter how much he liked heights, he wasn't quite as fond of gliding down them. (Better than climbing, but still.) The paraglider had managed to hold up to even the volcanic heat, when it really shouldn't have, but there was always the worry at the back of his mind that something was going to finally do it in on him at the worst possible second. And the most efficient way- and in some ways, really the only way -to get down from them was the damn paraglider.

But when he had to go into a weather-intensive environment (or to Gerudo Town), he couldn't exactly warp straight into the area before changing, and he wasn't all that keen on just ducking behind a shrine and hoping either nobody saw him, or nothing snuck up on him to kill him while he was preoccupied. The towers were safe from monsters and too high for voyeurs.

He wasn't a huge fan of the armor that the Gorons made, either- it was too clunky and lacked maneuverability -but after taking it to Cotera to work her magic on it, it was actually fireproof, and despite its name, a fireproof elixir couldn't replicate that effect.

He'd spent enough time in the royal guard, long before being named a Champion and assigned to Zelda, to know that it wouldn't work for a formal visit. He was going to have to ask Sophie to make him something. That sounded like exactly what he wanted to do.

Maybe he'd just take his Champion's tunic and a random pair of trousers to Cotera and throw them and some diamonds at her. Might be less annoying. Guess it depended on what Zelda wanted.

But at the moment, he lacked anything other than that goofy-looking armor, didn't even have a fireproof elixir he could use- he was only getting pictures and not going to be going where he might get fire blasted into his face by a lizalfos, so an elixir would more than do the trick -so time to pull that weird thing on.

Once he was certain that the protective effects of the diamonds were active, he made another hop up to the Shae Mo'sah shrine.

Even with the enchantment on the diamonds blocking out the heat, Link still felt the need to squint against it. He could see how hot it was, between the flecks of fiery ash that fluttered about like snow, and the visible heat waves radiating from the rocks, which was all the reflexive part of his brain needed to think that said heat endangered his vision.

A couple blinks dismissed that, and he was thankfully unmolested as he headed down the road and started taking pictures of ... well, mostly just the buildings and the decorations on the archways and the sign stores, because there really wasn't anything that stood out in particular about the place otherwise. The Gorons didn't exactly wear clothes in the traditional sense. They had those mawashis, but that wasn't anything that would be helpful to Sophie.

He briefly wondered where Yunobo was, but decided against tracking him down. He didn't have much on his mind at the moment to talk about, and stuff to get to. He had to talk to Dorephan, and possibly fend off an attempt at an engaged conversation with Sidon, before he could get down to Gerudo Town and suffer through the indignity of a twelve year old chieftess giving him make up advice to take back to Zelda.

Life, when did you get weird?

Link realized he was going to have to remember to get the Slate to Purah so she could- what was the word she gave that process? printing? -transfer some of the pictures for Sophie onto canvas or paper or something for her. Not only was he not going to sit there while she looked at the Slate for however long it took her to come up with something to her satisfaction- and he was most definitely not going to let her borrow it -there was still that picture of Tokk and Zelda to give to Tokk, and the Slate's memory was going to be full by the time he was done that day.
