About: | ![]() The vast kingdom of Hyrule. One hundred years ago, it stood as a shining example of a kingdom rich in history, culture, and people of all races. Within its bounds were allied tribes of the Zora, the Gorons, the Gerudo, and the Rito. All stood with Hryule's people- Hylian and Sheikah alike. For the threat posed by the ancient legend of the Calamity Ganon was a shared legacy, with every race taking part in the fight against the incarnation of malice that stood against the Goddess and the world She loved. But that was a hundred years ago. Before the Calamity returned, and brought ruin to the kingdom. The Champions of each race, tasked with piloting Divine Beasts, creations of Sheikah technology from ages gone by, were lost to the battle. Ganon's power took over the Beasts and other machines that the people had resurrected from their slumber to aid in the fight against Ganon. With the Champions gone, and the peoples' hopes turned against them, Hyrule fell. Buildings that had stood as testament to the might and power of Hyrule decayed, leaving behind only a few settlements where people took refuge. Eventually, the Fall all but disappeared from living memory, as people alive during the Calamity passed on to old age. Very few were left, picking up the pieces and rebuilding and waiting with held breath for hope. Hope that the threat would finally be vanquished. For the old ones knew, knew with every fiber of their being that Ganon still resided in the old castle, waiting for his power to be restored so he could once again wreak havoc on the kingdom that he cursed over and over again. A century passed, with silence from the beast. While the land was still haunted by monsters, the Guardians and the Divine Beasts seemed to no longer harbor a threat. People began to travel, and commerce took root once again and grew. History moved on without the Champions and the princess that led them. Then something woke the beast within Hyrule Castle. Guardians returned to life, threatening the populace. Monsters began to appear in larger and larger groups, more and more powerful. The Divine Beasts woke up and rampaged across the desert, the mountain, the skies and the rivers. People began to grow afraid. As if in answer to the collective cry for help, a young man appeared. His name was familiar to some, the Hylian Champion who was believed to have fallen in Hyrule Castle during the Calamity, but very few believed there was any more connection between the Champion of old and this new swordsman than the name. The old ones, however, remembered him. They knew him. One hundred long years had passed, but to most, it seemed that the goddess Herself had intervened and resurrected the lost hero, armed him once again with the Sword that Seals the Darkness, and tasked him with sealing away the Calamity and his forces once and for all. A few, however, knew the truth. The Champion had fallen, and it was only the intervention of Princess Zelda herself and forgotten Sheikah technology that had saved him, sealed him away to be healed and renewed. To the dismay of his friends, however, the long Slumber Of Restoration had erased his memory. Despite knowing nothing about himself, his past, or any of the friends who'd gone before him, Link's sense of duty and justice drove him across Hyrule, piecing back together the kingdom that he'd once loved, calming the Beasts and releasing the spirits of his fellow Champions. With the people standing and the Beasts restored to their proper pilots, the Hylian Champion declared private war on the Calamity. While the people of Hyrule looked on with the last stirrings of hope, the malice that had held the castle captive disappeared, severed and sealed with a holy golden light. What many didn't know, however, was that while the Hylian Champion had broken Ganon's power, it was the princess they thought lost who'd sealed him, the light of the goddess, her divine birthright, shining across the land and driving away the darkness. In the wake of the Sealing of Ganon, Princess Zelda and the Champion Link faced a sudden new reality: the world had passed them by. They'd known this, of course. One hundred years had passed, after all. It stood to reason. But during the hectic days of the fight, during Link's quest to stop Ganon's forces while restoring his memory, that reality had seemed far away. It didn't matter, if Ganon wasn't stopped. But, now that he was, that reality came to the fore, and demanded to be dealt with. The job of rebuilding Hyrule fell to them, two of the only survivors of the kingdom's days of splendor. They were the only ones who could truly be the foundations for a new Hyrule. But in the meantime, they had to come to terms with the isolation they now lived in. This is their story. | ||||||||||
