I'm not sure what's going on, but I am sure that dinosaurs are always a terrible idea. I know because pop culture has taught me this.

I already ruled this out as hallucination, mind control dream, or some form of hysteria, so now I'm just leaning toward insane, but officially not my brand of insane, and therefor not my fault.

So, who's running this joint? Please tell me it's not a T-Rex. Or actually, tell me it was, it'd make my day better.

Should I start at the beginning, or are we just going to handwave the not-dead bit?

Starting with not-dead works great for me.

Fury resurrected him utilizing a program SHIELD had put into place initially in case any of the Avengers managed to get themselves killed in battle. After a sufficient 'recovery time', that is to say, SHIELD doctors making sure that he was well convinced that he hadn't actually died but rather had been sent on a long, restful vacation, he was assigned a squad of agents to work with covertly on Reconnaissance, Recovery, and Infiltration.

Him being alive was strictly on a need to know basis, mostly agents level 7 or above save those with specialized clearance. A few exceptions were made on rankings with Barton and Romanoff, presumably because them knowing would have upset the Avengers dynamic. I can't claim to understand Fury's reasoning, but that makes the most sense.

Well that is in no way discomforting and doesn't make me want to throw things.

I am always on a need to know basis.

Not this time, you weren't. I think there were a total of twenty people that were immediately aware of Coulson not being dead and even fewer who were aware of the circumstances inherent in it.

But you're more than allowed to make faces at Hill whenever she shows up for not telling you.

Just because they didn't know I was need to know doesn't mean I wasn't. They just failed to acknowledge that.

She's getting demoted and a pay cut or something. That's probably a thing I can do.

Which made it pretty hard to know. Though, I'm certain Coulson would have appreciated someone he knew knowing.

Back home, probably. Here? Not so much.
