If I had to pick a kind of hellish torment, it would probably have been this. I barely know how to live without lying about it.

I'll be drunk until whatever this is ends.

Limited experience with alcohol, long time watcher, first time poster; but is getting drunk really the best way to prevent talking? I have books if you want to borrow some and just hide somewhere until this whole truth thing blows over. I totally hear you on the pains of not being able to lie. Kind of nice in one sense, absolute nightmare in the other. I'm really sorry it's such an uncomfortable thing for you.

Generally it's the opposite. Unless you plan on getting blackout drunk.

So, by limited, what I really meant is like, I've held alcoholic beverage containers and smelled it. The effects of ingesting it are something I understand from a purely academic understanding. On that same note, blackout drunk generally considered very bad for ones health and not something I think it would be good to advise to avoid truth telling shenanigans.

Probably all for the better. Alcohol turns into a pretty persistent way of coping for most adults if things get bad enough.

And it's not healthy. But it shuts the world out for awhile. And sometimes, that's worth the risk.

Is it? A lot of adults seem to really enjoy alcohol, at least for its relaxing benefits. It also has a wide variety of health benefits, at least in moderation and assuming we're talking about wine. From my understanding it's a pretty terrible way to way to cope though, just a long road to a lot of headaches and getting sick.

...Yeah. I could see the appeal of that sometimes.
