Entry tags:! network post, critical role: caduceus clay, dc (film/tv): charles rowland, dc (film/tv): edwin payne, school spirits: wally clark, ✷ chapter 02 (all the pretty monsties)

For the sake of proper communication, I will be taking an indeterminate number of days away from my duties at the front desk. All I ask is that you please try and respect the organizational system established, and to reach out with any questions.

I make no promises over the speed or tone of my responses.

To answer the obvious questions in the hopes of not needing to repeat them:

  • No, this was not intentional.
  • Yes, Charles is similarly affected.
  • We expect it to last roughly as long as Charles was in his canine form.
  • None of your business.
I believe that covers it.

At least talk to me about it. I hear about it the same time as everyone else, but they're not ghosts. It doesn't matter to them like it does to me. I should be happy but all I see is Charles getting to be a dog and you two getting to be in living bodies people can see again!

The sin was lying to us for 40+ years about what he was doing! We thought he was trying to council us. He told us Janet had moved on when he just locked her in an old fallout shelter for months.

You wish to know when we plan to attempt the spell? Why?

And I am sorry to hear about your friend. But I still am not sure this spell is at an iteration where we should be introducing in other factors. If you wish to be seen, there are still the disguises. It isn't quite the same, but it allowed us to be perceived by more than the usual living.

Disguises? Isn't that one your magic things? Or one of you powers?

It's a charm we used to use on cases. Typically a pair of glasses. We've been making those for decades, I could likely make something passably close to your usual appearance.

Yeah, but I can't actually touch stuff in the living world. It just looks like I do to other ghosts or people who can see ghost stuff. So... would that even work?

They are intentionally charmed to be useful to ghosts. Like our clothes, or my notebooks. It is not a difficult spell, simply a time consuming one.

Are the other disguises charmed to you specifically? Like... to make sure it works first?

We've had no reason for anyone else to use them, but there is nothing in the charm itself that binds it to a wearer. I'll see if I can't find Charles' in the office.
