10/09/16 - 10/15/16
Birthdays: None this week.
Weather: Highs in the mid sixties and lows in the mid forties throughout the week. Mostly sunny with the punctuation of a storm on Wednesday afternoon that rolls through the night and into the next morning. Some days are more nippy than others, but jackets and parkas are definitely making an appearance this week.
Monday, October 10th is Columbus day and there will be no classes that day. The day, however, will not be boring for some as several faculty and staff members will be set to retrieve a new student from a precarious situation and there will be a free day for the students who would like to participate in it. Transportation will be provided to those who would like to head into the city for the museums and other activities until the vans leave at dusk to return to the Institute.
The usual activities will be going on throughout the week. A drop box will be placed in the common area for ideas to be dropped into for Halloween plans. Suggestions can be anonymous or signed and will be gone over Friday evening by the faculty.
Physical training sessions will be starting up again this week as well, and students and/or faculty will be able to schedule training sessions upon request throughout the week. Students will also be assigned a mentor for more advanced one on one training sessions including but not limited to: hand to hand combat, coordination, team building exercises, emotional support, and power honing skills. Mentors can be checked in with to see how each student is progressing adn to learn the areas where more work is needed.
